Lest the virtuous man gets lost

7. Among his people because of it
The Nile did not withhold its gift

8. And be gentle in its flow
And if the wind rages we see

9. The dance of the palm trees’ wings
Dew slaps the flowers

10. And the vines cling to them
The rose bears its thorns

11. Protecting it from passersby
And the night darkens the union

12. Between the beloved and the lover
And many a ugly one

13. Finds a wooer
And the pretty one finds no suitor

14. If the good companion is near
Even childhood does not arrive

15. Except with the wailing of distress
How many an ugly female

16. Is pretty and desires washing
And sometimes the coward escapes

17. While the brave one faces doom
Fearing a battle whose

18. Sweet drinking is perilous
She desires but cannot reach

19. A plain girl in lasting glory
What can smooth cheeks do

20. When the body is heavy
Except forcibly adapt

21. In the court of beautiful patience
How much kohl rides

22. Upon thick eyebrows
If there was any good in them

23. The kohl would not have chosen the eyebrows
But it is a decree and so

24. It does not judge or sway
How many benefits are in defects

25. Proof that faults hide wisdom
