1. If the soul comes and speaks of our conversations
Or a world before the world of people containing it

2. Then how can the souls not remember previous ones
From the world of particles elucidating its past

3. Can this soul since the beginning have no
Mind, and in the mind is a secret other than what is in it

4. Or is it negative, and the mind came to complement it
And from both came awareness igniting it

5. Or is the infant born with the ignorant soul
And the mind gradually occurs, making it realize

6. Say then it was before reasonable
And the one who created forgetting makes it forget

7. For a wisdom, so it sees the world and is amazed by it
Because remembering its past would sadden it

8. So this is the soul of the mysteries of its Creator
And a mercy to God's servants hiding it

9. If the soul remembered what it lost of pleasures
The pleasures of earth would not satisfy it

10. So let's leave off searching into souls inclined
Death will inform of the secrets disclosing them

11. How many secrets are in nature, days
And nights reveal in their succession

12. What our forefathers knew then passed
Not knowing much of its aspects

13. We on earth do not know its essence
And we live on its edges

14. So how can we fathom a heaven we do not reach
And how can we fathom stars from its abundance

15. Who is it that taught the chicks from young
To peck for food or gave it direction

16. Who taught the fledglings to raise their heads, did it
Save for raising the head to water them

17. Who taught the bees building and geometry
And ants to store food of the season protecting it

18. Who split the earth about vegetation and flowers
And sent down rain in measure watering it

19. Who provides for birds gliding the skies
Who guarantees beasts provision in its deserts

20. Who is it that put man in a dream
Hearing news by inspiration narrating it

21. And who and who has given us merits
Glory to Him, these words do not enumerate them
