1. The face of the universe beamed with joy and good fortune smiled,
Youth returned to the ages, and the pearls were strung together.

2. The virtuous woman's mouth began to smile,
Though she had been aloof from all other people.

3. Had she turned her neck towards her equal,
Saud, the serious active son of the noble tribe,

4. Whom the King of Kings and their pride saw
As a baby wrapped in the cradle of glory.

5. He continued to grow as virtues climbed,
Until he reached the utmost extent of excellence a young man can attain.

6. A refined gentleman, scion of imams,
They are the people, not the hands of toil and misery.

7. Wisdom, generosity, and piety are beloved to him,
Injustice, miserliness, and hatred are hateful to him.

8. When nobility and eminence culminated in him,
And he assumed the throne of glory in the springtime of his life,

9. Like the deeds of his ancestors, who are helpers to him,
He was seen by the Leader of the Faithful as worthy of his reign,

10. And by what insight and wisdom have deemed.
He entrusted him with the legacy of the Muslims,

11. To care for them in his absence and presence.
The Muslims were pleased with that and pledged allegiance to him,

12. Saying, “Thanks and praise belong to God.”
So he took on the burdens of the caliphate gloriously,

13. As his forefathers had done before, and his grandfather.
Kings whose likeness matched his, and they agreed

14. That this one is a guardian, and that one a supporter to him.
O Abd al-Aziz ibn Faisal, your celebrated deeds will remain

15. As long as there remains in the world someone to serve.
You are determined when you make up your mind,

16. Undeterred by intimidation or temptation.
You have helped Islam in every land,

17. And with it you have aided the people of towns and nomads.
With it you have ruled over the lands from Basra to Abyan,

18. And Egypt and India have bowed their necks to you.
You have not accepted anything but seeking your own glory,

19. And among the Arabs the most glorious of those who attained glory.
When you embark on something, you take hold of its reins,

20. And when you stir the embers, no spark ever dies out for you.
How not, when you are the protectors of the religion and the world,

21. And their masters before this and after.
You established the path of religion with steeds and camels

22. That race with them, trained for war when chaos calls.
Galloping to the fray heavily armed, when battles rage

23. The noble lions bow to their onslaught.
When an ignorant man is deluded by his own ill fate,

24. Thinking that fleeing far away will save him,
You pelt him with their shooting stars, which hinder birds in flight,

25. And no rugged valley or rocky cliff protects him.
He ends up wandering in the deserts, wishing

26. He were an ostrich or shrouded in a grave.
They are not who they are. The fugitive cannot escape them,

27. And if they seek him, they find him without fail.
How many worries they have relieved with their determination,

28. Which, before hearing their cry, blinded eyes see!
They gave sanctuary to Kisra bin Sasan in the past,

29. And among past peoples they now have no equal.
They are the joy of the world and the planets of its fortune,

30. They are the best of those to whom power and authority are given.
When they give, they enrich; when they judge, they pardon;

31. And when they fight, they plunge in; and when they rule, they strengthen.
Giving without condescension, ruling without caprice,

32. Judging without frivolity, patient without zealotry.
So to God, my Lord, belongs praise and thanks

33. For blessings that cannot be fully enumerated.
And forgive me, for my praise does not fulfil

34. Your right over me, not even a fraction.
May the world never be devoid of your lasting presence,

35. And may the goodness you bestow upon the world never cease.
And bless the One in whom is pride,

36. In the world and in Paradise, for eternity.
