1. The one who complains of distance and estrangement sings,
I complain to those who lack generosity and nobility,

2. I complain to those who lack pride and benefit,
And I don’t expect from them righteousness and help.

3. They don’t understand my strange languages,
And they don’t have mercy on the one who came from afar.

4. Not a friend with whom I can share my worries when distressed,
Nor a generous person to whom people are led.

5. Except discordant babbling in their languages,
An ugly confusion that shatters the livers.

6. Oh my confusion, O people, my insight has narrowed,
As the lost one wandered, the slave of passions wandered.

7. We were placed as the shepherds were lost,
In a desolate land that has no visitors.

8. My affliction in my trial, along with my solitude,
Is much more than what you see, it grows.

9. And time betrayed, how vicious are its pits,
Despair camped over the fallen one and was generous.

10. It gives you the right to hope if it wants to elevate you,
And tells you: “Live comfortably and in prosperity.”

11. Then it declines upon you against your will and degrades you,
To pits that have no affection or sympathy for people.

12. O faithful ones, beware of time,
You see time, so much in description and malice.

13. You see time, so much in diverse wonders,
You see time, so much in joy and grief.

14. You see time, so much in sweetness and pleasure,
You see time, so much in bitter sorrow.

15. You see time, so much in narrow complications,
You see time, so much in open plains.

16. You see time, so much in those who leave worries,
You see time, so much in recurring sorrows.

17. You see time, so much in happy nights,
You see time, so much in days of darkness.

18. You see time, so much in mornings of prosperity,
You see time, so much in reversed destiny.

19. You see time, so much in honor and aid,
You see time, so much in humiliation and loss.

20. Time is like the truncated snake,
Gentle then lethal, endless in cunning.

21. The betrayer of pacts did not fulfil,
With us or others, it cannot be tamed.

22. This has become, O folks, of its traits,
Patience, beautiful is patience, the best provision.

23. We endure, perhaps God will improve our rescue,
And bestow upon us, The One, The Generous.

24. For the matters of God proceed according to destiny,
Beyond the perception of the enlightened mind.

25. And enough of the ample nonsense, I suffice,
And compose meanings beloved by ancestors.

26. Those who are special do not reap their harvest my inspiration,
With an example that does not require critics.

27. The pen has come to write the rhymes of its words,
On top of the parchment sheets pouring forth.

28. Explaining what has confined my heart from grief,
From an ardor that clings to the soul and grows.

29. After this, O rider, set out travelling,
Urge your steed like an oryx in rut.

30. A hot Omani crossing the valleys and terrains,
Walking the whole day searching.

31. And God has guided you, O Tars the doe,
And rush on the back of the smooth-haired camel.

32. Smooth-haired camel, I wish it health from defects,
The work of buttocks that faced Baghdad.

33. Weaving from special silk, so expensive,
But from the injustice of time, gloom.

34. If its decline makes you worry,
The gloom of ashes from embers is grief.

35. The saddle from a fox fur, so precious,
Dyed behind the donkey, gloom.

36. And pleated, playing with the winds,
And embroidered with feathers of grouse so scarce.

37. It went out wonderfully colored,
Gleaming like glowing embers.

38. With ornaments, no breeze makes it flutter,
Attracting to the hook of clouds if extended.

39. Tie its knees, and the belts and straps,
And bid it farewell and smooth the scales.

40. And the supplies that benefit you on the road,
You see, we have provided for you, O youth, from afar.

41. But you be the sea of the road with insight,
And preserve my commandments and fill the vessel.

42. First, beware O Tars of terrains,
At night do not let your eye sleep.

43. And avoid places with establishments from villages,
And all sides are countries of men without buildings.

44. And before the four, beware you slacken its reins,
And walk the blowing of the easy winds.

45. Fortify yourself and take the road and trust,
And do not fear what would afflict you from the unseen.

46. I left you to God, my Lord and Creator,
And guided you to Sho’ayb and Al-Miqdad.

47. The dawn from Sana’a, race with vigor,
And take the endless plain.

48. And urge it on, do not slacken the guard,
You see, we race you O youth, a stallion.

49. It turns towards Meewat, slaughter your cattle,
And they bid farewell to you, about to depart.

50. And greet Mahmoud and Hamed our folks,
In Jarom, they died and death is remote.

51. Oh what a loss, the people of praise and glory,
They resided in the abodes of Turks uncultured.

52. Climbing Youzga and rouse your zeal against fatigue,
In it, still, for us plains and pits.

53. Recite my greetings, then convey my regards,
To all in general, do not specify individuals.

54. Oh what a loss, a people of honor and generosity,
What do they have under millstones grinding.

55. From the rise of Libra, certainly,
Rouse the zeal and walk O diligent one.

56. And hasten after the third and fourth,
To Qaisariya guest O reaper.

57. Where the generous who endow you with generosity,
And glad tidings, even if they are in bitterness and affliction.

58. From Qaisariya walk O Tars the doe,
To our near road of the zeal.

59. To Mardin and the abodes of Bakr in its terrain,
And from there to Ash-Shahba a smooth rest.

60. Protect and rouse your vigor against fatigue,
Without stopping, do not spend the night.

61. From the rise of Libra and Suhail, certainly,
Taurus and your path O youth comes to its end.

62. From Ash-Sham clothe yourself, pass Ethnan Qubla,
To Al Ghadir, to Al Miqdad stretch your purpose.

63. Plant, clothe yourself to the monastery your intention,
To Al Mujaimir and the clear road leads.

64. When you come O Tars the terrains,
None other than this O boy, no more.

65. Rest your cattle and descend the hills aside,
And fold the text in lines of ink.

66. The hand of Abu Jabir the valiant named,
And the perfect horseman, but his time has passed.

67. Grey hair O Athiab son of Ghanim,
Oh what a loss, the tiger of the valley has aged.

68. As for my greetings, those who share my dwelling,
If not for old age, visitors of wars attack.

69. Greet Muhammad, Abdi, and Fares,
And their family who kindle the heat of embers.

70. I complain to them that I am a grieved sufferer,
For the separation of those who became pillows of affection.

71. For missing Jabir that confused my plans and might,
And Naif the horsemen with continuity.

72. Tears dripped above my cheeks,
Oh what a loss, before a while they gathered.

73. You see their loss O uncle shook my resolves,
And summoned my worries to the lions roaming.

74. You see their loss O uncle weakened my sides,
As if I am in affliction without guidance.

75. You see their loss O uncle whitened my cheeks,
And summoned my tears to the cheeks abundantly.

76. You see their concern O uncle from the greatest afflictions upon us,
But that’s how your Lord has willed.

77. My head turned white and my plans vanished from estrangement,
And my body faded from the sight of visitors.

78. I stand before them as if facing them,
My heart has not deviated from their love.

79. Oh what a loss, those valiant lions,
From the finest strains among tribes.

80. Horsemen generous when meeting, noble when giving,
And intimate in tales, family of the generous.

81. You see our oppression, worries, and sorrows,
When they departed from us in columns of righteousness.

82. This is my words, my greetings, and my trial,
For the distance I console you without purpose.

83. I endure even if I tasted afflictions from enemies,
For patience for mankind is the best provision.

84. Perhaps it may relief and the love changes,
And he rides his she-camel one day searching.

85. We seek the flocks of faith and hold accountable those,
Who worked with the books corrupting and spreading immorality.

86. You see me grieved, devoid of righteousness and guidance,
Upon them and those who were brought up with us then perished.

87. And my worries a caravan of camels cannot carry,
Oh heart, from the bitterness of time abating.

88. Pray upon the one who ennobled the land his mention,
The regulator of the order of existence by numbering.
