10. After I was the sultan of the deserts
After I was the leader of the shepherds

11. I see you in the land of the Turks alone
Lost and wandering to the monastery

12. Standing in the markets without a servant

14. You will see the death of the young man better than his shame

15. As for me, if I obeyed my advice

The callers of the universe from the highest abode

27. For the sake of the Rightly Guided from mankind
Who pleased the Almighty with their souls

28. Free us from the lands of foreigners
And unite us all together

29. And comfort the hearts of the orphans
And forgive our afflictions and sins

30. Your servants have no refuge but You
Flocks in the lands of the Berbers

31. Have mercy, O God of the Throne, upon a people
Who went with their families wandering

32. And without fate their state was lost
Help us in this affliction

33. Our hope is always in the rank of the pure God

35. And she will wear on her chest a necklace of jewels

That will come to her as a gift from the ruler

And we were always supreme over all the tribes

62. The clan of Ma'ruf, who are no fools
Until God decreed, the Lord of the Throne

And they began to ingratiate themselves among the villages

64. And they called themselves "the commoners"
And they rushed the mares of deceit

65. Donkeys, mules, they rode them together
And they started looting here and there

66. Until they did in the whole wilderness
From Deraa to Ankhel and Dumah

67. They took tribute from it
Enemies from enemies and Bedouins from Bedouins

68. They gathered hides for the gun cases
And stamped seals beyond count together

69. And they made the mosque a den of corruption
Until their evil spread through the wilderness

72. And they started to despise all the clans
And they placed a gendarme in every village

73. Until the people's patience was exhausted
And they started demanding the high state

74. And said, let the lion who rends be killed
Better to die by poison than live humiliated

75. Enough humiliation at their hands
Let the wolf pass by it to al-Shalya

76. Forgive it, perhaps it will not repeat
Even if it was a level garden

77. The day God became angry, the Lord of beings
And people extended their spears

99. As if in the days of ignorance
As if the people had no Shepherd

100. And as if the wilderness was handed over to us
We lost in this what we had gained

101. May their opinion disappoint, Lord of beings
After the looting, they set it on fire

102. Its smoke rose to the sky
They left no doors or ceilings

103. No flagstones or millstones
The wrath of the Lord of the Skies afflicted them

104. He broke them like the people of Tubba
They shouted "God is Great!" in battle

105. The children of Islam from all directions
Arabs, Shamis, Kurds, and Circassians

106. From Karak to the Nasiriyah
From Istanbul they brought soldiers

107. And they brought the battalion and artillery
And they started gathering from every monastery

108. And for two weeks they lay in ambush
While all this was happening we

109. Had serious dissent among ourselves
Every two days a gathering in a village

110. Saying, O Lion, pay the blood money
Abu Hamid Sa'id gathered all the villages

123. And upon Najran they lit it on fire one evening
And battles occurred in the land of Qaradah

And the second day they took as-Suwaydah

125. Locusts coming from the barren plateau of Najd
A day when there was a rebel at ar-Sajin

126. And at al-Majdal, the sheikhs of the commons
They said, where did the dogs go?

127. And shouted, where did the wretches go?
They did not stop to take a stand

128. Today the market is for sale and purchase
And an extremely terrible battle occurred

129. Wondrous like the day of al-Qadisiyyah
Only the sound of rifles and cannons remained

130. Thunder and lightning, you could hear the echo
The noon prayer, the battle was ongoing

131. And its sun was eclipsed at al-Harbajiyah
And all night the gunpowder sounded

132. Like the neighing of mares, you could hear the groaning
So many lonely encampments spent the night

133. And how many youths lost brothers and homes
The forts of Jaf stayed with the army in them

134. And where did the men, people of zeal, go?
Where are those who mention the words of glory?

135. The girdles of the honorable Druze
You see, no matter how great a sword is

136. Without a wielder it has no cutting edge
Oh my sorrow for Hani and his likes

137. Black lions nursed with my milk
They broke what could not be mended

138. Fire, and above it, kegs of water
And the army took as-Suwaydah from it

139. And descended into the heart of volcanic Hawran
They prowled around the House and Kaaba

140. More than a hungry lion and very hungry
And they started asking the people for provisions

141. You see, a flea cannot carry supplies
"Bring barley for the mares of as-Sawari!

142. And they want hay for the horses of the battalion
Firewood, o you people, bring to the soldiers

143. And for the officers charcoal of the morning, hurry!
Every day, al-Musharrif with his whip in hand

152. With this and that, you could hear the groaning
Five days in the prison of as-Suwaydah

153. Until Thu'nun, and we suffered the affliction there
And on the sixth day, God is the Greatest!

154. It was as if we were in Muna on the day of sacrifice
We met the people of Jilq who cleaned us

155. From clothes to turbans
Some of them threw stones at us

156. And some of them beat us with sticks
And some of them stabbed us with daggers

157. Until our blood was pouring red
A day from dawn until the star of fortune appeared

158. Sixty of us died because of them
And the living were drowning in their blood

159. We arrived at the prison, so they transported us
Youth as harsh as salt, they went on military campaign

160. Some of us were condemned to Rhodes
And some of us to the lands of exile

161. It amazes me how we endured the blows
And the wide world became too narrow for our faces

162. The brother no longer checks on his brother
After us the people had a burden

163. No longer did the living care about the living
The number of dead in the prison of as-Suwaydah

164. And the prisons of the regions piled up
And here we ended our words

165. And traveled to the lands of wandering
As for others, let them compose a poem

166. Relating the collected events
And I conclude with prayers upon my intercessor
