1. The one who with injustice's wrath began
To compose arts and words that freely ran

2. Began and started to sketch plentiful meanings
As a necklace of pearls is joined to finery

3. Like a perfumed pearl necklace round a slender throat
If seen by the lovesick, it makes their passion bloat

4. If seen by the lovesick from beauty's tribe
Their youthful gaze like an ostrich feather will imbibe

5. Their youth bows from intense love and yearning
Despite their proud souls it makes them keeps turning

6. Despite their proud souls for it they pine and ache
To see a beauty veil and hijab didn't make

7. To see a beauty coverings didn't adorn
Not makeup like kohl nor perfumes that morn

8. Neither clothes nor jewels nor colorful dresses
Nor flowers shaped it though their scent it possesses

9. Nor did they shape its beauty to rise and foam
But natural is its charm, delightful and home

10. For it my swooning heart madly swayed
If it saw even its phantom in a dream portrayed

11. To quench the burning of passion, longing and pain
By the order of the One who resembles the full moon's reign

12. By the order of the One whose beauty cannot be attained
Except by drinking the wine cup to forget what remained

13. That is what lovers do in passion's creed
Either through union or by death freedom they plead

14. For what the soul craves is from distress' tallest peak
When it entices one to the cause it obesely seeks

15. When it entices one though doom may be all it reaped
Its seeker it leads without harness or steed

16. It leads happily drunk with love, without heed
Even if the path to ruin it proceeded to lead

17. Even if it neglected advice and refused to cede
And walked for it calling without any need

18. And walked and swooned, minds and hearts under its stampede
Thinking union with the beloved is guaranteed

19. The soul's wings fail though its journey succeeds
Even if the guide restrained it with a tied lead

20. Even if the tamed one's rein it strongly stamped down
For passion's root is swooning without a crown

21. The crazy lover in passion's law
Is like a weaned child, no reason in awe

22. With oaths the soul we should stop blaming
The soul that is sick and no cure claiming

23. Struggling mountains it will make collapse
And without this, there's no homestead or lap

24. It's like a feather floating in the air of love
It flutters though the breeze gently does shove

25. I have sorrows that heavily make me dip
And though I refuse, my tears loudly drip

26. Though I refuse, down my cheek tears creep
From a hurting gaze, pain going deep

27. A gaze used to crying and the ache
I told it O eye rest, you must wake

28. I told it O eye my friend, do not rave
Afraid for your light that it will cave

29. If your light goes, so does my plea and want
I will remain blind in lands of haunt

30. Blind without guidance or a ray
Dependent on others to show the way

31. Maybe relief will come and passion will alter
This wailing O Faisa, will falter

32. O Faisa, crying and wailing don't mend
In your land of tents be patient till the end

33. In our land against my wishes sustained
By God, leave this crying before it's drained

34. She replied with curing words and said
Strange, the eye of a sad one wants to bed

35. I said to her, O my two eyes spare me more
They say no state stays as it was before

36. And consider, those days and those days over there
Were days of joy and days of care

37. Those were dark gloomy nights that appeared
Where those I don't love seem endeared

38. While those I love are kept away for years
And forgot me, their rank disappeared

39. Their closeness blessed me and their test distanced
While the alternative was a foreign replacement

40. The alternative for the perfumed and the great
Became a black slave, descendant of Ham and Shem's fate

41. O fire of my heart, whatever I say, you ignite
Between ribs and senses darkness you incite

42. In me is an illness not from my innate fire
In the house of my soul it has secretly transpired

47. O my illness, my biggest woe and pain
You must serve my heart that wine cup's bane

To be a solitary bird, deserted it implied

50. To travel after we were its nest and home
And be taken by strangers, tied and loaned

51. To become at the hands of strangers a bird
Who forgot us, was pampered and its treatment preferred

52. To be taken and sold with reins and rope
And become separated in a group with no hope

53. To be taken and become among a people whose way
Is open immorality night and day

54. Patience - sweet is patience more than honey
What can be done with fate and days not funny

55. Who insists with days is lost, mood ruined
Even if his army was a million well-trained

56. Days are like viper's poison to man
If tasted by man, his years are done

57. Days are like bees' honeycombs
They stir winds with aggressive groans

58. Days cannot be stopped by high peaks
They call its edifice a wreck

59. They call its high edifice as rubble and remains
Plains after they were mountains wearing chainmail

Their bones are now feeding beasts mean

65. Among us they threw in the sea depths cleaning
They drifted with no flags or signs reading

66. Among us on soil they drag and scrape
Like dead bodies and graves with no shape

67. Among us are jailed, tortured and confined
Among us some more to execution assigned

68. Among us the birds and beasts did haul and haul
In the towns of war, no mercy or call

69. We are not anymore creatures with pride
In Syria, our tongues they tied

70. Like pages of bedsheets, our women's cover
Stopped at prison doors, orphans suffer

71. There they vilify with words that are sensors
In the castle square, they roam

72. Who sees them, their liver ails and goes numb
Who sees them, their eyes from the pain tears shed

73. Until now, our children beg for bread
Until now we are all under Turkish rule

74. No relief seen from this ridicule
Except if God has mercy and softens our plight

76. For the prophet and the four noble knights
After that, I reconsidered the estrangement

77. And the pen flowed atop the surface with excitement
To show what my heart felt of the hardship present

78. And compose the rhythms of the sentences pleasant
Sent to deliver people from their violent treatment

79. O you who carry my message on the safe boat's shipment
In the morning, the breeze comes from Sinab

80. While darkness still looms over Istanbul
The Bosphorous lighthouses shine bright

81. Like Izmir's harbor at dusk alit
On Italy and Sivas go straight

82. When you reach Rhodes, no need to wait
Call loudly, who saw our lands so great

83. The people of hospitality, customs upright
People of generosity and dignity's light

84. Young men like lions come to recite
Young men who with spears make darkness take flight

85. Faces who never saw guests with fright
Greet them a thousandfold and the same again

86. Greetings and peace once more I ordain
After conveying my message's refrain

87. Without complaints, a resolution they will obtain
Without explaining my predicament and endless pain

88. Inside a castle in oceans of bane
No relief seen unless from our Creator humane

89. The Creator of mankind who eases our strain
Never fails he who makes God his destiny's main

90. From Him comes guidance and inspiration's vein
Greet Ahmad and deliver my address polite

91. Those who are wise will understand my plight
Say the wonders my cousin that transpired

92. When the chiefs of our lands were conspired
And targeted those who valor and dignity admired

93. And rode tyranny, rulers they hired
And criticized the Horan's virtues and maligned

94. Pure silver they criticized though it shined
They targeted leaving us who they disdained

95. While it was like the Zanati's walls remained
A wall that after construction became ruined

96. Became a pond for the despised and lowly ruined
After being like a scented bud the perfection of nature

97. Became an ugly old woman no longer as nurture
They empowered the corrupt and spread disorder

98. The wicked and corrupters became in order
You mixed good and bad in positions higher

99. Religious elders blamed each without tire
Whoever you elders did not recruit

100. Upon him, you placed the name of sin acute
And the head of dignity and purity no more

101. From every side, evil is at its core
You now openly travel all towns

102. While one of you disappears for months
As the saying goes who understands my address

103. Ants do not ruin their homestead
Woe to my eyes when they see their crowds

104. Horses, donkeys and looted goods
They ate barley and legumes and all the food

105. Leaving the roosters and hens confused
Missing them, you were so eloquently accused

106. Vile speech from despicable faces produced
Vile speech improper to transcribe

107. But absence made me this truth scribe
Absence, injustice and misery invite

108. Me to blame my cousins for the failed oversight
I blame and remember what amongst us transpired

109. And how violently the Druze conspired
Something happened that never occurred before

110. Not even told by ancestors of yore
Until the Turks invaded our abode

111. And dispersed us among various hordes
Until now we are under Turkish reign

112. Seeking relief from the Lord who holds all domains
Seeking relief from the Earth and Sky's Creator

113. Maybe He will unite us in the abode greater
Maybe He will heal our wounds and keep us together

114. And save us from this darkness forever
O Abu Ujaj listen to my poem's nature

115. I'm one whose guardian disappeared from pasture
I'm one whose guide was lost and as result filter

116. I became drunk without a cup or mixer
If I was impudent, blame me and the rest

117. But my words are truth, I attest
The fallen cannot be blamed for honesty expressed

118. Planted regret won't provide food or rest
Planted regret O Ibn Buhassas you confess

119. Left my being after building it a mess
If estranged for long, my longing and loneliness progress

120. My soul must swoon with passion unless
My soul must leave its stead if estranged success

121. If the absence of the departed persists and digress
After praising the chosen Prophet in nobleness

122. To end with good and unite us from this darkness
O God unite us and heal our sickness

123. And save us from the land of darkness
