1. By God, O you whose path never fails
O Lord, hasten to reveal my talents

2. O helper of the desperate, O most generous gate
All creatures long for your mercy

3. You give life and cause death and control the kingdom with justice
O You whose speech lies between kaf and noon

4. O The Living, The Eternal, The Self-Sustaining
O You who inspire awe for great deeds

5. O You who but says “Be” and it becomes
Reveal our joy after despair had hidden

6. And free us from dark prisons
I prepared my patience before in a sack

7. And said, nights of sadness will not lessen me
The sack became empty and in my heart a blaze

8. The residue of those nights kindled my suspicions
Your world lasts not, O Abul Waleed and Dhiyab

9. Do not feel safe from the world's betrayal
It will topple you though atop a high watch

10. And many who claimed nights betrayed me
After this, O You atop the skies

11. Pull the oppressor and hasten his demise
It goes about saying it is ever-turning

12. Feeling safe from raids and eyes
It carried a boy who feared not night's horror

13. A butcher of hopes, O my customers
It comes to me without dates or raisins

14. Evening, while I am without garments and furnaces
It circled Mount Huran, O finest of comrades

15. Greet those who know me through language
They knew quarters that terrify and are firm

16. Today they are plunder for the vilest of germs
O Haidth and Shayyal, O yellow-toothed

17. O people of graves, beware and help me
Perhaps you may save me from injustice and conceit

18. From the rule of Talhooq's son and his madness
No doubt we will be sheep after the wolves

19. And your eyes will see your children wearing me
Those who remained in our land glory and pillars

20. Became in the lands of Bursa and Qustantuniyya
Some of them in Rhodes and Antep

21. Others in Persian lands remember me
While others' quarters were with Ibn Qatab

22. Slaughterhouses for guests they called me
What a tragedy they became for ruin and crows

23. Do you think after this they will return me?
And the Generous Gate will spread wide

24. And return those who sailed me in the sea
The abodes will delight in their people and loved ones

25. And we will rejoice to see our faded eyes
Joseph returned after his star had gone

26. And returned to gladden Jacob after the sorrow
Your Lord is Most Generous and relieves agonies
