1. On Tuesday I recalled when I
Met you and drew your spirit into my poetry

2. And I began to frequent beauty with my gaze
Around you into my heart though you were unaware

3. And days have passed as though they were
Thoughts of a lovesick heart at dawn’s first light

4. And a night we spent, lovers, between us
Conversations more delicious than aged wine

5. Let us withdraw to pleasures and pluck their flowers
And revel in them, waist pressed against waist

6. If after you the days became desolate
Then your memory is an oasis in that desert

7. I was patient though, oh how you left me
One day I’ll know how to take wing with patience

8. My heart has loved, loved and longed
And become embers without firewood or coals

9. I was drunk on your memory a thousand times
And this heart will not wake from that drunkenness

10. Years have passed but they feel not passed
For you come to mind through my thoughts

11. We were swimming, youths, in the sea
When will we bury sorrows in that sea

12. I’ll return alone, then return a second time
Imbibe longing though it be but a kiss’s imagination

13. Come to my heart, come fear not
For your safety in my chest, come to my chest
