1. A leader took on the best of manners,
The generosity of clouds and the honor of spears,

2. The refinement of the literate and the nobility of the eloquent,
The wisdom of the insightful and the preaching of time,

3. The integrity of Ibn Rushd and the resolve of Ibn Hazm,
The opinion of the Imam and the jurisprudence of Al-Hasan,

4. Righteousness adorns him when he is steadfast,
And righteousness follows him when he inclines.

5. It is as if his forbearance provides armor for those who fault him,
Protecting them from the punishment they deserve.
