1. The sun rises from your morning,
And the moon emerges from your brilliance.

And majesty, my master of the morning.

And what is etched onto your features.

5. Your eyes, the beautiful gazelles,
And what your hands gesture.

Is sweeter than the fruits of others.

7. O you, for whom I neglect
Drawing near or being distant.

8. I see you as my merciful Lord,
Though your seriousness is far from me.

9. You walk with pride and grace,
Not the breeze or litter disturb you.

10. Sometimes you shine at dawn,
Your hiddenness an ordeal for those who see you.

11. Exalted is He who made you
The comfort of souls and chose you.

12. And made loving you
The tenderness of hearts in noticing you.

13. O happy is he whose era
In its home made you its father!

14. If only I were your companion,
Or your neighbor, or your brother.

15. Or despite my status
I led your people and you led me.

16. Then I would see your beauty in your youth,
O beloved, and in your evening.

17. And I would see your bed, does it
Cradle you as my heart would, if it held you?

18. My heart is a soft cradle, so if
You resided in it, it would protect you.

19. If you descended into it, you would alight
Upon the remainder of those who hope in you.

20. If my fate made me despair
And the nights plot against me in passion for you,

21. I increased it with the patience of the noble,
And his forbearance, until I see you.

22. And if the Lord of eternity decreed
That you insist on spurning me,

23. And I spent my days captive, not tasting
Freedom, then the time of life runs out,

24. And I failed to gain meeting with you,
Then my soul will return to you, so will your approval shade it?
