1. O lightning, flash between Marwah and Safa
Early, to give drink to the pilgrims whose faith has worn out

2. And guide the pilgrims to the landmarks of Mecca
For you have left them confused and halted

3. Load your turban with water from Zamzam
And sprinkle with its sand the shuddering hearts

ูู ุฒูู

ููุงููุถูุญ ุจูุฑูููุงูุง ุงูููููุจู ุงูุฑูุฌูุง
4. And line my eyelids with its blowing wind
I yearn for its soil should it be swept away

ูู ุณููุงูู ุฑูุญููุง
ุฅูููู ุฃูุดูุญูู ุจูุชูุฑุจููุง ุฃูู ูููุณููุง
5. Between Al-Hujun and Al-Hatim for Ahmad
There is a radiant trace, and the soil is honored

ุฃูุซูุฑู ุฒููุง ู

6. With his embers at Mina reaching Arafat
Beyond, a place for the Prophet to stand

7. The Black Stone and the Red Stone gleamed
Its lights refused to be eclipsed
ูง. ููุงูุญูุฌุฑู ููุงูุญูุฌูุฑู ุงูุฃูุญูู
ูู ุชูุฃููููููุช
ุฃูููุงุฑููู ููุฃูุจู ุงูููุฏู ุฃูู ุชููุณููุง
8. And Maqam Ibrahim calls upon his Lord
His feet marked the mount where disciples stood

9. The House of the Curtains, its corner caressed
By the wings of doves, pleading and compassionate

10. Would that I were among its particles a dove
Ceasing my warbles, weeping for Al-Mustafa

11. O eye, weep for Al-Dafeen in Taybah
And for one massacred, wrapped in his own blood

ููุฑููู ุจูุฏูู
ู ุงูููุตูููู ุชูุบูููููุง
12. Two brothers, the best of them in Harrah of Yathrib
Laid down, while the other left behind in Iraq

ุง ุจูุญูุฑููุฉู ููุซุฑูุจ
ุซุงูู ููุขุฎูุฑู ุจูุงูุนูุฑุงูู ุชูุฎูููููุง
13. The swordsmanโs right hand was paralyzed though he
Abandoned the Imam fearful of the sword

14. The Gloaters rejoiced not in slaying the successor
Nor did his death alleviate their misery

ุงุชูุฉู ุจูุงูููุตูููู ุฃูู
ููููุฉู
ูุง ุณูุฑูููุง ููุชูู ุงูููุตูููู ูููุง ุดููู
15. Umayyah wished that his sword would strike
A live coal, O Umayyah, would have sufficed!

ููููุฉู ููู ููุตุงุจู ุจูุณูููููุง
ููููููู ุฌูู
ุฑูุฉู ูุง ุฃูู
ููููุฉู ููู ูููู
16. Their cure from the day of Badr when he killed them
That martyrdom which cannot obscure or fade

ู ุจูุฏุฑู ููุชูููู
ุชูููู ุงูุดููุงุฏูุฉู ู
ุง ุจูุฐููููู ู
ูู ุฎููู
17. And I weep for the two grandsons after their father
Out of love for their grandfather, gentle and kind
ูกูง. ููุฃูุจูู ุนููู ุงูุณูุจุทููู ุจูุนุฏู ุฃูุจูููู
ุง
ุญูุจูุงู ููุฌูุฏููููู
ุง ุงูุฑูุญูู
ู ุงูุฃูุฑุฃููุง
18. My, how misguidance prevailed over guidance
In slaughtering al-Husayn, little care or hesitation!

19. Alas for an accident, if only it could be avoided
Alas for an error, if only it could be corrected

ูู ุนูุซุฑูุฉู ููู ุชูุชูููู
ูุงูุงู ูููุง ู
ูู ุถููููุฉู ููู ุชููุชููู
20. Better she left the hyenas high-pitched, fragmented
And the wolf packs to roam about and waver
ูขู . ู
ุง ูุงูู ุฃูุฌุฏูุฑููุง ุจูุฃูู ุชูุฏูุนู ุงูุธูุจุง

ูุชูุดูุธูููุงุชู ููุงููููุง ู
ูุชูููุตูููุง
21. Quraysh approved that Hashim be killed
So upon Quraysh, after Hashim, settle the dust!

22. How many calamities befell the clan of Abde Shams
From their violence which continues to be portrayed

ูู ููุชููุฉู ููููู
ุนูููุช ุฃูู ุชูุตููุง
23. If, instead of Umayya, there was an eagle
That swooped down to feed on al-Husayn and fluttered about
ูขูฃ. ููู ุฃูู ุตููุฑุงู ูู ู
ููุงูู ุฃูู
ููููุฉู
ููุญู
ุงู ููุญุงู
ู ุนูููุงูุญูุณูููู ููุฑููุฑููุง
24. Or a female wolf, when it appeared in her place
It would gently console al-Husayn and treat him kindly

ู ุฎูุฑูู ู
ููุงูููุง
ุบูุฑูุซุงู ููู
ููููุฏู ูููุญูุณูููู ููุฃููุทููุง
25. Lo, a flock of wild ducks passed by, so the echo complained
And the flow of water ceased, no more to gush forth
ูขูฅ. ุฃูู ุฃูููู ุณูุฑุจู ูุทุงู ุบูุฏุงุฉู ุดููุง ุงูุตูุฏู
ูุงูุงูู ู
ูุฌูู ููููุฑุฏููู ู
ุง ุงูุณุชูุฎูููุง
26. Verily, I rise joyful, remembering them
And remain restless, enjoying the pleasures
ูขูฆ. ุฅูููู ููุฃูุดุฑููู ุจูุงูุฒููุงูู ุชูุฐููููุฑุงู

ู ููุฃูููููู ุจูุงูููุนูู
ู ุชูุฃูุณูููุง
27. I wish I knew how it was atop the staff
The head of al-Husayn and his light, how they wavered
ูขูง. ูุง ูููุชู ุดูุนุฑู ููููู ูุงูู ุนููู ุงูุนูุตุง
ุฑูุฃุณู ุงูุญูุณูููู ููููุฑููู ููููู ุงููุทููุง
28. Or how the switch separated a part of him
That was a comfort spot for the Prophet and sanctuary

ูููุฐุงู ูููููุจูููู ููู

29. If they raise the head of al-Husayn, they raised
A burning torch from the covers of the Book
ูขูฉ. ุฅูู ููุฑููุนูุง ุฑูุฃุณู ุงูุญูุณูู ููููุจูููู
ุฑูููุนูุง ูููุงุฐุงู ู
ูู ุฃูุจูุนู ุงูู
ูุตุญููุง
30. Alas! A narration that perturbed my heart
It mentioned the Messenger and his family, so I yearned
ูฃู . ุฅููุงู ุญูุฏูุซุงู ุนูู ููุคุงุฏู ุฅูููููู
ุฐูููุฑู ุงูุฑูุณููู ููุขูููู ููุชูุดูููููุง
31. Why did I get agitated at the mention of their enemies?
It was as if I had been bitten by a hot blazing coal

ุนุงููุฑุชู ู
ูู ุฐููุฑู ุงูุฃูุญูุจููุฉู ููุฑูููุง
32. Perform prayers upon the Prophet, for it
Sweeps away grave sins, removing them completely

ู ุงูุตููุงุฉู ุนููู ุงูููุจูููู ููุฅูููููุง
ุชูุฐูุฑู ุงูุฐูููุจู ุงูุดูู
ูู ูุงุนุงู ุตููุตููุง
33. O Lord, I have been accustomed to loving them
So make that, apart from anything else, my preoccupation
