1. Congratulations, good tidings have come to you,
And the tribes supporting the Prophet have been honored.

2. The true religion and its people have been exalted through you,
With observatories rising high in the horizon.

3. You have a radiant rise and a noble nature,
Through which the glorious kingdom dazzles, beautifully described.

4. Your generosity pours from the clouds,
And your face radiates the light of guidance.

5. The kings of the earth envy your supreme position,
Yet each falls short of their hopeful goal.

6. However great their standings in the heights,
They cannot equal you in supremacy, though they may give support.

7. And when you saw the West overthrown,
And the abode of the Caliphate deserted,

8. And the guardian of the unbelievers took upon himself its burden,
So many Muslims were humiliated as unbelievers grew arrogant.

9. You came to its aid through the son of the Caliphs, favoring him,
Your slain will be offered up and your sword overwhelming.

10. She is but a maiden who long called for
A leader of wisdom, deterring transgression.

11. Loyalty to the covenant distracted him from her,
Though able, he kept withdrawing his hand from her garment.

12. Until she complained of what befell her and sought justice
From you, as fate turned against her.

13. So you bestowed on her the best of your favors,
As clouds pour down on burning thirst.

14. And you prepared for mighty victory regiments
That hurry to battle and take the lead.

15. Long will the transgressors bow to her,
No warrior but what her hooves have trampled.

16. By God, what a shooter among her ranks,
His arrows are stars in the horizon and polished blades.

17. Arrows of unbending firmness, like crescents,
Raining stones on the enemy, amidst which shine bright stars.

18. You dispatched fleets at sea impetuously
Sweeping the lands of enemies and hastening.

19. Some frolic with others playfully
As horses once frolicked in the wilderness.

20. They adorned them in black, as if
Their oars were black hyenas, their watchful eyes ash-colored.

21. And the foam of the sea floats on their sides
As gardens amidst meadows bloom.

22. By God, they are structures, when anchored,
The heavens revolve auspiciously around them.

23. Whether launched or docked, guidance they guard,
Defending its partisans and blocking enemies.

24. Tall ships on the lofty building you docked,
They seemed like a necklace clasped around a palace.

25. Until the voice of determination called, when
A mission was clear and excuses null.

26. You revealed to the people of earth wonders from them
Whose like persists in East and West alike.

27. Bearing the finest of brave warriors
Raised to supremacy, mighty chiefs.

28. Familiar with the raids of wars, seasoned expert
In the secrets of the Caliphate, skilled master.

29. He carries far-reaching affairs while seated,
Rectifies the confusion of clamor while traveling.

30. He takes the enemy by surprise at the battle front with ones
Who, when raging, spare no survivors.

31. Do they not know the Caliph is like Joseph
Whose virtues are meteors proliferating the sky?

32. Do they not know the son of Nasr, his sword
Frightens enemies without tiring or falling short?

33. When battling he horrifies the enemies,
And when peaceful, the pulpits feel at ease with him.

34. The protector of God’s religion ― his station is lofty,
Deeds recorded, virtues recited.

35. Aiding success, granting victory,
The guardian of religion and world united.

36. Indeed, the king of the West has found none other than him
Worthy of gratitude and praise for his feat.

37. Through your might, he was installed sovereign,
Triumph is his trove and success his alliance.

38. The souls of people feel comfortable with him
And longing sighs in hearts recommending.

39. Morocco proclaimed from its distant lands:
“Hasten to the heights, exceed and take initiative!”

40. By God, hidden mysteries have been concealed
Minds fall short of grasping their secrets.

41. God refused but to suppress the enemies ― could
The ungrateful in a fortunate kingdom remain?

42. Betrayal is but a disgraced scheme,
The Caliph’s integrity is enough, glorified and pure.

43. The patron of betrayal, in any case,
Deviates from righteousness or stays up wary.

44. It is fate that always disgraced him after his glory
Revealing what secrets hid within him.

45. And cited views of prosperity in its scheme
As if its resources enabled it to give access.

46. Can visions benefit without the guidance
Of insight to guide perceptions?

47. Can one who consistently sides with his idolators
Ever believe in the oneness of God?

48. You did well to return him, disgraced,
Having supported those who allied the enemies in decadence.

49. Congratulations, my master of Caliphs, on a season
That brought glad tidings to your door anew.

50. The month of fasting, most generous host, bids farewell
Thanking you duly for honoring its rights.

51. And the Holiday of Breaking Fast, most noble visitor, draws near
Closely succeeding, hastily keeping pace.

52. For a blessed reunion renewing its felicitous promise
Enduring for ages without decay or loss.

53. You have arrived at its anthems―your joy apparent,
Your party is victorious and your troops prevailing.

54. You have furnished the abode of the Caliphate a new lodging
Whose towering heights are widely circulated.

55. Regained, your fine work fortuitous
Your kingdom supreme in all domains

56. Remaining, despite the passage of generations, as a pillar of support
While your good fortune therein is without parallel or match.

57. My Master, take it as a garden―whenever
A breeze blows from your praise, it smells of musk.

58. And I present to the sea of your munificence this string of pearls,
How outlandish that to the sea jewels are gifted!

59. When God Himself has praised you, what can
An eloquent orator or skilled poet possibly say?
