1. The stars of glory shine in your surroundings,
Though they gleam, their setting is not to be feared.

2. The lights of guidance reveal themselves wherever the enemies are blind
To their brilliance, however little it may be.

3. The signs of victory cannot be hidden,
Their path to the guided ones is now clear.

4. The traces of a kingdom where no dark night of tribulation
Can conceal them, their swords are proof of their might.

5. The achievements of one who empowered his people with revelation
In Taybah when its messenger sought refuge.

6. A leader whose pure chalice is exalted when other
Goblets and banners of kings are abased.

7. He remedied the riddles of time in its affliction
With his charity when calamity had debilitated it.

8. Nobility and supremacy suited him as virtues did
Achievements in kingdoms none can emulate.

9. Yusuf exemplified beauty and dominion,
Granada is like Egypt and his charity the Nile.

10. He inherited established kingship and supremacy,
Bequeathed by his truthful and intimate friend.

11. Delights cultivated in the basin of victory after
Its roots were nourished by the Prophet's helpers.

12. Downpours when the clouds neglect their rain,
Lions whose manes the calamities twist.

13. They bore a master whose glory is sought
By the noblest that loftiness can inspire.

14. The trotting steeds echo his name mid journey
Their dashing stirs the dust that carries his praise.

15. No zephyr carries his eulogy from which
Intense yearning unburdens itself of his virtues.

16. His unsheathed blades harvest lives during raids
To later rest in scabbards adorned with serrated edges.

17. He will attack his enemies with armies of comets
Whose tails outstretch the gloom and elongate it.

18. Vanguards will penetrate the land of disbelief
Glorious beyond depiction when they advance.

19. Plunging into the vast sea of spears without
Dread or hesitation, such is their zealous courage.

20. Thereupon the steeds of God rest for the fated encounter
That will answer the caller to guidance and abase him.

21. As if the neighing of the stallions deafened the enemies
And only the neighs responded to the takbeers.

22. As if the flanks of the mounts silenced the frenzied clamor
And only the jingling of their accessories muted the bells.

23. As if the straight blades of the spears shortened the lives of the foes
And only their length prolonged those of the soldiers.

24. As if the red turbans could snatch away the spoils
Like crimson clouds showering abundantly their rain.

25. As if the land of polytheism is conquered and
Its people now humbled, submitting to manifest victory.

26. With every unfurled inch of his sword he dispels the darkness
Transforming the horizon, altering its obscurity.

27. Light in the saddle, his resolve weighs heavily on the enemy,
Crushing them, though swift and slight his own equipment may be.

28. Of regal manner though kingdoms fall short of his merit
And fail to attain his goal in times of war.

29. Crooked-nosed arrows, though aimed definitively
Are opponents misguided in their journey, lost is their return.

30. When the Arabian steeds stampede as during the day of Halimah,
The blades of jihad unsheathe, stretching to impossible lengths.

31. They are the ones no flaw tarnishes but their lightning,
Those are the ones no defect disfigures but their retreating.

32. Entrusted with armored soldiers they intimidate or attract
Whether in appearance or character none can reproach.

33. Passionate for passions are they, Laila unto her Qais,
Juliet unto her Romeo, for love they perish.

34. If the enemies have rusted in safety, still sharp
Are their edges, polished by the grindstone of war.

35. The adversaries of the faith desire unattainable mischief,
But his aim is invincible, while theirs has been thwarted.

36. The straight blades will be carried in the grasp of a Yusuf
Who will steady the swaying rage when inclined for slaughter.

37. You will see the mounds of enemies subside during battle
With a wind of mighty victory redirecting their crest.

38. It will reveal the integrity of the protected homes thereafter,
Sanctuaries they will become, no longer susceptible to breach.

He will unleash successive battalions across the land of disbelief

40. Whose steeds have roamed its regions tasting the spoils of war.

41. Their floral turbans seethe with fury,
Yet their withering in this turmoil is not to be feared.

42. The polished swords etched portraits in the sand
With drops of amber drawing streams to their flow.

43. Squadrons arrived from the outskirts of his lands
Finding refuge under the king’s sovereignty.

44. Their resting abodes are honored within his precincts,
No guest there shall experience misery.

45. So renew the meaning of nobility and grandeur,
And straighten the bent pillar of time.

46. The dew of your sublime hand has been hoped for since extended,
It greeted and revived, good news and acceptance.

47. Your greeting has cleared its darkness, and may your protection
Keep safe from your bounty what direness has attempted to mar.

48. Supremacy, security, clemency, and guidance,
As well as bestowal of favor and precedence, grant them might.

49. Though troubles have disgraced themselves before these principles,
And been abased while exalted by your towering determination.

50. Many have come to your door whose precincts
Are places of refuge and hospitality offered.

51. Hopes guide them to seek you, needs make them your guests,
And after the incident at Nawaa, many more of their like.

52. If the far shrines have provoked their fervent longing,
Like the moaning of doves when desire makes them coo,

53. Still, nothing parallels the sanctuary of the Caliph Yusuf,
No equivalent for it exists, nor can transgression make it veer.

54. O defender of the faith who inherited supremacy
From the companions, among them his grandfather and in-law.

55. Your sublime caliphate firmly established its pillar,
Then humbled your opponents and empowered your tribe.

56. The kingdoms of time compete to lean their walls
Of nobility and grandeur upon it for support.

57. Who can empower the darkness to illuminate or make visible
What competes with the splendor of dawn, an impossible feat!

58. They ignored the nobility you uphold, so they failed,
And the ignorant of all worlds are the most wretched.

59. You cultivate the seasons of success and prosperity
Victory's alliance makes it the perfect guarantor.

60. The world welcomes your commands and we obey
Their issuance and wish only to prolong them.

61. We congratulate you on this feast, and may you delight
In a thousand more, for you beautiful is righteous work.

62. You rose in the horizon of kingship like a guiding dawn
Whose light dispels the darkness and diminishes it.

63. You extended a generous hand to accept the kiss,
Straightening the inclined with grace and composure.

64. You sent from your rain of charity toward a cloud
To nourish the command of dew and its pouring rain.

65. The flags of jihad came to you after their absence,
Gardens of amity where no defect is feared.

66. The abode of supremacy was prepared to benefit it,
Its construction appealing to those hopeful of grace.

67. The most splendid beauty came to settle
In the glory of honor, lacking no generosity.

68. Under a king whose outstretched shadows are safety,
Covering the world, truly its protectant shade.

69. Passionate toward gifts, though small their number,
Sufficient for it and amplifying the hopes.

70. None but sing your praise in pleasing speech
And relay the excellent qualities you embody.

71. None but loyal in their affection
Rivaling the tails of comets in duration.

72. Consider these descriptions of their fine traits
That captivate minds and imagination.

73. They show you meanings riding steeds of eloquence
Your ear they greet in the fields of rhetoric gracefully.

74. Propriety acknowledges that I am its leader
And falls short of grasping the essence of my distinction.

75. It cannot fathom the heights of its crescent moons,
Their grandeur has perplexed the intellects of all epochs.

76. Why not, when among your sublime traces are guiding stars
Constant, their setting cannot rationally be expected.

77. They found in your existence the purpose of their ideas
To massively guide orderly systems of thought.

78. Your description provides them with every novelty,
Your being, if they stray, is their corrective guide.

79. You remain for kingdoms the destination and objective,
Conveying to them the epitome of desire and attainment.
