1. Good tidings of a distant victory draw near,
led forth by the guide of glory and valor.

2. A day returning with whatever lofty wishes you desire,
for its season has reached the heights through your might.

3. Victory gleams, radiant in its making,
and its perfection gladdens all the world.

4. This is the opening whose horizons dawned
and whose stars peered out from the folds of resolve.

5. This is the work led by the Sublime
for a Joseph ruling kingdoms, his standard raised high.

6. So rise up, revived and dazzled by it,
fortified, confirmed, and firmly established.

7. Faith will weep over its vanishing glory,
while disbelief will lose all its power.

8. A rule made new again by virtue―
its solidity never fades though oft repeated.

9. And Malaga, where the enemy hordes gathered―
the Lord of Caliphs and Kings serves it.

10. To Him, though mighty, are due honor and praise,
worship and precedence fittingly bestowed.

11. In hope of His bounty, in dread of His might;
when resolved, His generosity is hoped for.

12. So the sword's harvest shrinks when His bounty expands,
like lightning flashes smiled away by clouds.

13. How often when fate was miserly
has the bounty of the Giver, the Bestower encompassed all.

14. Every kingdom, though great its gifts,
takes its holy Kabaa and spring of Zamzam from Him.

15. No aspiration turned away but found refuge in Him―
for bounty brings it about, and refusal destroys it.

16. Raiment of glory is draped about it, unsolicited,
until seemly for its stature, marked by signs.

17. The Sabbath―where the unbelievers gathered―
its far reaches and environs cleansed and purified.

18. O people! Can a treaty be renewed there
after one concluded honorably? Can what is banned be allowed?

19. Can there be any retreat from a stronghold,
if not forced, though the pagans plot against it?

20. It called you, O King of the World, to clarify
what the enemy obscured on the eve of victory.

21. And it breathed in the scent of your triumph at dawn
when the future of conquest breathed out its fragrance.

22. Such are its intentions―and news came to you
of the religion's manifestation, raising it high.

23. Wherever tribes seek your support
and hope in you to unite the faith.

24. For this land you conquer it; for safety you grant it.
For glory you dispatch it; for triumph send it forth.

25. For kingship you back it; for grace you oblige it.
For faith you revive it; for disbelief you destroy it.

26. For reward you earn it; for a promise fulfill it.
For the army you rally it; for righteousness inspire it.

27. How often the unbelievers drove it back when it approached,
like birds denied the sweet nectar of flowers.

28. Never has the night of ordeal darkened its treaties
but the dawn of resolve shone out, dispelling gloom.

29. An opinion you hold―when banners are unfurled―
matching in aims the arrows you let fly.

30. Victory has sworn to conquer its quarters
while plunder cannot contain the grasping hands.

31. The sea scowls in its turmoil,
its waves sneering from their seething.

32. The blade-lightning flashes in your right hand
when dread looms, cleared by your smiling gaze.

33. How many stalwarts, victory's pillar, stand tall;
how many eloquent in our tongue, though foreigners.

34. Striding to contend in the arena of foes―
a marvel their ears had never known but for your resolve.

35. Never! The unbelievers' heads remained unbowed
while the sword of triumph humbled them.

36. What can lead the warden of pagans
but his passion for old ways amidst ruin?

37. If he led the army of enemies to war,
they were abandoned to plunder, their gains now lost.

38. Why should he not accept the judgment of humiliation
when the fateful parchment was unfurled against him?

39. Save him, for the breath of Islam is fading;
though hurt, it is healing for his wound.

40. How many agents' hands the unjust have turned against him,
in deeds never recorded in annals of the great!

41. War stood upon its feet, helpers stood back―
but loyal to you, it would not bend when you bent.

42. And the noble messenger who bound their hearing with wonder,
as if a singing bird trilling out its song.

43. The bow releases him when arrows fly,
as if their impact strikes the heart within.

44. The rider competing on the field of dread
prances where the foe retreats in awe and alarm.

45. Like lightning in speed, flames in heat,
winds in force―his stamp is unmatched.

46. When the dreaded hero raises his fearful voice,
their throng is but a shadow, advancing his shade.

47. Or he drags the dejected enemy behind
like a shackled prisoner led into the wasteland.

48. The enemy slept while the night of peace enveloped them
and it pleased them there―but it marked their ruin.

49. Had the dawn of your resolve appeared then,
their tranquility would have woken into regret.

50. Soon the eye of resolve will shame their withdrawal,
as your purpose pursues their failing.

51. Though retreat's paths be blocked,
it will sweep them from a land they relinquish against their will,

52. As if, before conquering them,
weakness of spirit turned it from their abodes,

53. As if its champion already casts them
from their stronghold, rejoicing in good tidings.

54. Fate reveals what it secretly records for your conquest,
though once hidden, now made clear.

55. You proclaim it to the far corners of the horizon in deeds
inscribed by your sublime hand.

56. So rise up, your resolve overwhelming their abodes,
thwarting where they sought refuge, their camps in ruin.

57. Fate conceals not the meaning of victory from you―
now obedience to triumph stands revealed.

58. Your servant composes pearls in verse
to sing your praises, forming ordered song.

59. Without your aid, your gifts would not be perfected,
no single phrase pleasing nor any pair.

60. So take the garden of my praise which perfumes
this ode to you, sealed with musk.

61. And delight in a season whose gifts abound,
its auspicious time gracing the sublime horizons.

62. May your kingdom ever defend the reign of kings
in all treaties concluded and covenants confirmed.

63. May your wisdom ever guide the banners,
and may triumph not retreat from them when sealed.
