1. It is the abode, so its valleys do not appear
Except every wanderer was guided by its valleys

2. A pledged land, sanctified, it guaranteed
Provision for its seekers, and flowers for its companions

3. How much its springs called us to watering
And if we turned away from encountering it, its plateaus

4. Its early youth gave from our youthfulness
A trust, I wish I knew, will it fulfill it?

5. How many hearts it turned in its resting places
And how much it complained of its meadows in its valleys

6. Passion was fervent with it, if it could help it
And patience sought refuge in it, if it could avail it

7. This while we went on pilgrimage to a chaste woman
To find peace, and we ransom it with our souls

8. A woman whose beauty manifested and shone
The mirror of my thoughts, time cannot resist it

9. She walks proudly like a doe
Her gait adorned it, if not for her pace

10. I called her my generosity, and cheap
Among us was her call, as her caller was dear

11. Indeed the caller is outstretched, how strange!
Why does the one called outstretch the one calling?

12. To God a guide, to the aim of the path guided
The thoughts of my thinking, what guides it guides it

13. Our souls made its love a treasure
To comfort it the day its longing calls it

14. Noble in origin among others she came
And attained the utmost heights in her goals

15. She spurned for long, but when she consented
Her meeting became the desired aim of the encounter

16. A descendant of the Prophet betrothed me from his clan
With a daughter of intellect, pleasing to the hearing

17. Stirring to seek knowledge, not once
Did people go astray in purpose, it guiding them

18. The red dawn rose with guidance
Not hidden from sights were its expanses

19. So we never clenched, but for her virtues
Nor extended a hand, but for her hands

20. This caliphate elevated its landmarks
So where is its Mahdi other than it guiding?

21. This eloquence, if its battalions come
The grip of the mighty suffices its hands

22. This generosity, if its springs run dry
The palms of its Hatem drip with its valleys

23. This knowledge, if its planets go astray
Rays of dawn guide it and lead it

24. This bravery, if it undertakes in determination
This enmity, if it shows its transgression

25. Its sword volunteers it, subdued
Its blade returns it, conquered and devastated

26. The flashes of its clouds portend rainfall for its asker
For every lightning inspires its generosity

27. And every gleaming for good tidings heralds it
Is there favour or hand that comes, preceded

28. Except the supporter of God's religion extends it?
The King, Most High, the Bestower whose palm

29. Was enough in generosity, and enemies were restrained
He excelled in spreading dew among people, rested

30. So its scent continues to spread in its valleys
My Master continues to show from his virtues

31. What delights the religion and the life prolonging them
The doves of thought in the garden of order became

32. Crying with dew, watering its valleys
