1. Stars of Najd's banners glimmer at dawn
Reminding of a pact, now broken and gone

2. Beckoning on the horizons, it seems to be
A greeting of affection and peace for me

3. At the shrine from afar I felt burdened
Our innermost passions to them have yearned

4. The charm of fair ladies has seized all sights
To them belong the hearts of all smitten knights

5. Though apart, our hearts have met and entwined
While bodies are separated, passions aligned

6. The caravan found rest, for it unloads
The passion within us, and passion it goads

7. Only graceful branches incline in its wake
Only shy gazelles follow and overtake

8. Only adornments of beauty have clutched my heart
As the eyelids roam gardens of beauty and art

9. Only to reveal the passions within me
Have my tears flowed involuntarily

10. Only intimate conversations were confined
To what the eyes of my friend have divined

11. Only for being mingled with their memory
Has the fragrance of flowers brought joy to me

12. Only for praising the defender of God
Has this poetry found rhythm and mode

13. Only for the smile that from his face beams
Has the dawn on the sun cast radiant gleams

14. Only for his beauty has the shooting star raced
Spreading its wings to the west unveiled and graced

15. Only for his towering status they shook in their beds
As the morning smile on his visage sheds

16. Only to take heed, forebodings abound
As the dawn from his pleasing face redounds

17. Only for how he fends enemies, God's faith persists
And with might he against the wicked insists

18. His sword makes the blood of all evil gush free
His mercy from sins makes the sinner go free

19. He's the sovereign supreme, the intrepid leader
Before whom all of life's calamities fleet and secede

20. Is he not the Imam, divinely empowered?
Before him lions and kings have cowered

21. Is he not the Imam with an ironclad will?
Before whom tribulations and hardships tranquil and still

22. He's protected by seven oft-recited verses
And granted openings through decisive curses

23. To God Most High he brought humility and grace
While still aspiring to most eminent place

24. From his praises spreads the scent of his glory
As the gentle winds spread his fable and story

25. His generous hand rains kindness profuse
Quenching with gifts as plentiful dews

26. In him have people's aims found great release
Fulfilling hopes, awarding efforts peace

27. His gifts pour as copious, subtracted by none
Quenching thirsts like clouds in the sky that abundantly run

28. His traits shine as stars lighting up the celestial dome
Illuminating the auspicious night's gloam

29. His armies on day of war shine like ships
Sailing seas of clamor in well-charted trips

30. His warriors are branches of shielding trees
Shading his trooped and fearsome armies

31. They'll conquer enemies, while lances in hands
Surround them, like arrows shot by demands

32. God's land they will rule, both east and west
With God as their granter, no one can protest

33. Your sword is unleashed, your arrows fly true
Your troops are victorious, your fortunes breakthrough

34. Your help is bestowed, your pardon coveted prize
Your tidings most cherished, your virtue belies

35. My wish, O Master, has been granted through verse
I gained what I sought, my efforts immersed

36. My meadow's now fertile, my horizon bright
My garden's well-watered, my flowers alight

37. Take them as you wish, your compliant poet's heart
To you through words most ornate did impart

38. Though my poems lack glory, your acceptance by far
Has lit my thoughts spreading near and afar

39. Could thoughts of a bird that sought nectar as boon
From roses fly far save by praise as its tune?

40. How could I ever reach in this poem's zone
The same status with you, when none before have known?
