1. My heart awoke and shortened the distance
After a long journey filled with passion

2. When it set its direction and sold ignorance
For guidance and hoped for good from time

3. And the son of Hajar feared death
From unrestrained love in the gardens

4. His feet once unruly and rebellious
Towards his pleasures, loose reins

5. But he departed after his lusts and spent
Long nights reciting the Quran

6. And praying to God with great effort
To attain success from the rooms of Paradise
