1. In ignorance, Raqash threatened me - would that
I and all the Raqashes on earth were tied with rope.

2. They were raised tenderly by a loving mother,
Yet how evil is the guest's refuge in this vile age!

3. Had I not left Raqash and gathered them,
I would be more disgraced than a downtrodden sandal.

4. My hands failed me, and I pursued a path
Other than guidance, without success or merit.

5. The ignoble, bearded gluttons, source of malice -
Profligates with provisions in fertility and eternity.

6. When they feel secure from the harms of fate, they rebel -
Like vicious dogs in shelters and thickets.

7. And if fate bites them with the fang of disaster,
They become withered sticks of tamarisk and saltwort.

8. Black-fated jackals amid the burial grounds -
When war's caldron boils, they gather.
