1. The fever danced with joy and radiance shone
The abode was adorned, and the smile of Beirut blossomed

2. The good country paled with might
And the council reaped the proudest gains

3. The lofty, noble position shone
With the years of Abi Al-Misbah Suhban Al-Karam

4. With his people he brought happiness and came
Saad Al-Suood, friend of those venerable steps

5. Company settled, and the fragrance of clarity spread
Are mortals anything but the full moon's risen glow?

6. The rain beautified, and the glories shone
In the meeting place of the best of nations, pride of peoples

7. A lion, when the fray intensifies,
Horrors appear in war that would gray cowards

8. Valiant, with whom flags were planted
With no peer but the protector of resolves

9. He who knights dread his name
And whom fierce lions fear in the wastelands

10. Sea of dew, fulfilling, unwavering in his pledges
What a protector, the one ransomed, Lord of Wisdom

11. Pride of all generous ones, our Master who
Raised his glories atop the flag

12. God, the All-Powerful granted him the noblest rank
Which came bearing glad tidings of blessings

13. And perhaps it is the best sign to
The best ministry, as the pen ordained

14. O God, perfect the good that You began
Out of generosity, and conclude it with the finest end

15. And delight our watcher with the lantern of guidance
And aid his magnificent, pure-natured father

16. And protect them forever, O Lord, as long as breath endures
With might that lasts as long as the breeze blows
