18. If he wished, he could have filled the world
With prose and improvised verse.

19. He surpassed the ancients in knowledge, and
Throughout time walked in this example.

20. The abode of Homs flourished through him,
So congratulate it for what it has attained.

21. And give good tidings to the monastery since he came to it
Disseminating the essence of excellent speech.

22. He came praising the Prince of the Faith,
Firm in resolve, lion in combat,

23. The happiness of fate, the best of mankind,
Comet of merits and sea of bounty.

24. God endowed him with a poet
Well-mannered, from the best family,

25. The wisest of the reasonable people,
Beautiful traits, praiseworthy qualities.

26. My Master, when your virtues appeared to me
Containing those praiseworthy traits,

27. I recited for you a Turkish verse
With harmonious, well-balanced meter,

28. Drawing closer through poetry to the sea
Of vast knowledge and open scope.
