1. The heart of Abdalda'a is inflamed and torn
He laments the pain of love as tears are born

2. A lover lost, enraptured and true to his desire
His eyes are restless though his gaze is worn

3. Yearning for a kiss his passion will not cease
Through the nights for that sweet kiss he waits forlorn

4. His eyes set upon those meadows and who is there
That noble lofty place that he held sworn

5. For it he has endless longing and desire
And wonderous passion that is reborn

6. Each day the servant wanders devoted
To visit though time continues to turn

7. By misfortune and the schemes of time he is
Defeated, for fate is fickle and worn

8. Your servant cannot fulfill what was promised
Distress only grows with each morn

9. For he met danger in an awful plight
That broke his spirit and his body torn

10. From a fall in the night that shattered his strength
And weakened his bones that are worn

11. Now he lies broken, unable to stand
Or raise his legs now twisted and torn

12. So to your lips my princes I strive
To pay what is due though I am worn

13. But I cannot attain my hopes
In this condition and cause forlorn

14. So O Haydari, O noble glory, excuse
Your devoted servant, by time worn

15. O best of men, whose traits are pure
Of speech gentle, sweet and adorned

16. You are kind, patient, generous and true
With sincerity and faith unworn

17. The Creator made your nature most sublime
The highest star to which souls are drawn

18. Our prince, exalted in his reign
The heights of glory make titles torn

19. These words though simple and plain
Speak truly from a heart worn

20. Conveying prayer, praise and thanks before
The seven heavens and stars are born
