1. Oh Abu Uthman, do you have a deed
That brings guidance to my prayers as a gift?
١. أَبا عُثمانَ هَل لَكَ في صَنيعٍ
تُصيبُ الرُشدَ في صِلَتي هُديتا
2. So I may thank you for this aid, and greet
Abu Uthman, though dead, as if alive.
٢. فَأَشكُرَ مِنكَ ذا المُسدى وَتُحيي
أَبا عُثمانَ مَيِّتَةً وَمَيتا
