1. If you die, O mother of separation, then marry,
And hope not after parting for a meeting;
١. إِذا مُتُّ يا أُمَّ الحُنَيكِلِ فَاِنكِحي
وَلا تَأمُلي بَعدَ الفِراقِ تَلاقِيا
2. For that of which you told about our meeting,
Were vain discourses that leave reason wandering.
٢. فَإِنَّ الَّذي حُدِّثتِهِ مِن لِقائِنا
أَحاديثُ طَسمٍ تَترُكُ العَقلَ واهِياً
