1. Even if the drowsy one tastes not love's delight
Mayhap he shall see the phantom of his beloved mayhap
١. وناعِسٍ لو يَذوقُ الحبَّ ما نعَسا
بَلى عَسى أَن يَرى طَيف الحَبيب عَسى
2. And desire has a bell that with its ring dispels all sleep
So, as oft as I seek to slumber, it shakes me waking
٢. وَلِلهَوى جَرَسٌ يَنفي الرُقادَ بِهِ
فَكُلّما كدتُ أَغفي حَرَّكَ الجَرَسا
