1. He drew out his sword from its sheath
And made haste, whetting the sharp blade
١. وَأَبرَزَ الخِدر مِن ثنَييه بَيضته
وأَعجل الرَوع نَصل السَيف يُختَرطُ
2. There to ransom you with every songstress
And the old man and the boys and the graybeard
٢. فَثمَّ تَفديكَ مِنّا كُلّ غانية
والشَيخُ يَفديكَ والولدان والشمُطُ
