And tall palm trees with erased verses,
١. ربعُ دارٍ مُدَرَّس العَرَصاتِ
وَطُلول مَمحوَّة الآياتِ
2. Time fluttered above it with two wings
Of feathers worn by decay and dispersal.
٢. خَفَق الدَهرُ فَوقها بِجناحَي
ن مَريشَين بِالبَلى والشَتاتِ
