Settled on its sweet water,

5. Your shadow floated above the water,
And the north wind played at its edges.

6. In the wave from what it saw a disturbance,
That the coast, ever shifting, is confused by.

7. And my eyes roamed in two gazes,
Your stream directs their arrows.

And affection - is there any refuge for me?

9. I wish I were a wind passing,
Over a shadow, not abandoning nor wronging.

10. And the wave takes its temptation captive,
Mournfully repeating and sending forth.

11. Then it passes and takes it to the heavens,
A cloud in its spheres billowing.

12. And I am alone with your shadow amongst the stars,
As the darkness descends, covering all.

13. In every kiss a star,
That sinks down or a planet that swoons.

14. Your imagination is the closest of my family,
Kinder, even if it cannot think.

15. I am stripped of it by women,
And my mother - the destruction, the hasty destruction - covered her.

16. And I have no pleasure from fate but your approval,
So have mercy, for fate is not just.
