1. The flags of victory fluttered in the throat,
And the defeat of evil was in that throat,

ูก. ู„ู‚ุฏู’ ุฎูŽููŽู‚ูŽุชู’ ููŠ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุญุฑ ุฃู„ูˆูŠุฉู ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุตู’ุฑู
ูˆูƒุงู†ูŽ ุงู†ู…ุญุงู‚ู ุงู„ุดู‘ูŽุฑู‘ู ููŠ ุฐู„ูƒ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุญุฑ

2. And a great conquest that God knows
That the hazards of fate's times do not diminish

ูข. ูˆูุชุญูŒ ุนุธูŠู…ูŒ ูŠุนู„ู…ู ุงู„ู„ู‡ู ุฃู†ู‘ูŽู‡
ู„ูŠุณุชุตุบุฑ ุงู„ุฃูŽุฎุทุงุฑ ู…ู† ู†ูˆุจ ุงู„ุฏู‡ุฑ

3. The words of God ascended, and they are supreme,
With the height of glories and the drawn sword.

ูฃ. ุนูŽู„ูŽุชู’ ูƒู„ู…ุงุชู ุงู„ู„ู‡ ูˆู‡ูŠูŽ ุนู„ูŠู‘ูŽุฉูŒ
ุจุญุฏู‘ู ุงู„ุนูˆุงู„ูŠ ูˆุงู„ู…ู‡ู†ู‘ูŽุฏุฉ ุงู„ุจูุชู’ุฑ

4. God's religion shone after gloom,
And the lanterns of providence and good tidings appeared.

ูค. ุชุจู„ู‘ูŽุฌ ุฏูŠู†ู ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุจุนุฏูŽ ุชูŽู‚ูŽุทู‘ูุจู
ูˆู„ุงุญุช ุฃุณุงุฑูŠุฑ ุงู„ุนู†ุงูŠุฉ ูˆุงู„ุจุดุฑ

5. It erased the injustice of the minister as it erased
The darkness of night in the dawn lights.

ูฅ. ู…ุญุง ุงู„ุจุบูŠูŽ ุตู…ุตุงู… ุงู„ูˆุฒูŠุฑ ูƒู…ุง ู…ุญุง
ุฏูุฌู‰ ุงู„ู„ูŠู„ ููŠ ุฃุถูˆุงุฆู‡ ู…ุทู„ุน ุงู„ูุฌุฑ

6. And misfortune turned in Karbala`, so it became
Stands for afflictions and a stand for harm.

ูฆ. ูˆูƒุฑู‘ ุงู„ุจู„ุง ููŠ ูƒุฑุจู„ุงุก ูุฃูŽุตู’ุจูŽุญูŽุชู’
ู…ูˆุงู‚ู ู„ู„ุจู„ูˆู‰ ูˆูˆู‚ูุงู‹ ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุถู‘ุฑู‘

7. The morning after the corrupters of Karbalaโ€™s people perished
And its meadows were filled with them, what a perishment.

ูง. ุบุฏุงุฉ ุฃุจุงุฏูŽุชู’ ู…ูุณุฏูŠ ุฃู‡ู„ู ูƒุฑุจู„ุง
ูˆูƒุฑู‘ูŽุช ู…ูˆุงุถูŠู‡ ุจู‡ู…ุง ุฃูŠู‘ูŽู…ุง ูƒูŽุฑู‘ู

8. So it bowed, and it did not bow to anyone before him
Of the ministers preceding to pride.

ูจ. ูุฏุงู†ุช ูˆู…ุง ุฏุงู†ุช ู„ู…ู† ูƒุงู†ูŽ ู‚ุจู„ู‡
ู…ู† ุงู„ูˆูุฒูŽุฑุงุก ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽุงุจู‚ูŠู† ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ูุฎุฑ

9. And they did not achieve any purpose or destination from it
Nor did they gain from it any kernel or peel.

ูฉ. ูˆู…ุง ุฃุฏุฑูƒูˆุง ู…ู†ู‡ุง ู…ุฑุงู…ุงู‹ ูˆู„ุง ู…ูู†ู‹ู‰
ูˆู„ุง ุธููุฑูˆุง ู…ู†ู‡ุง ุจู„ุจู‘ู ูˆู„ุง ู‚ุดุฑ

10. And he warned them before that of his tyranny
And gave them a month and more than a month.

ูกู . ูˆุญุฐู‘ูŽุฑู‡ู… ู…ู† ู‚ุจู„ ุฐู„ูƒ ุจุทุดู‡
ูˆุฃูŽู…ู’ู‡ูŽู„ูŽู‡ูู…ู’ ุดู‡ุฑุงู‹ ูˆุฒุงุฏูŽ ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุดู‡ุฑ

11. And this minister treated them with his justice
And far be it from injustice and far be it from tyranny.

ูกูก. ูˆุนุงู…ูŽู„ูŽู‡ู… ู‡ุฐุง ุงู„ูˆุฒูŠุฑู ุจุนุฏู„ู‡
ูˆุญุงุดุงู‡ ู…ู† ุธู„ู…ู ูˆุญุงุดุงู‡ ู…ู† ุฌูˆุฑ

12. And he warned them of severe torture and dominance
And was thorough with the honorable messengers and warnings.

ูกูข. ูˆุฃู†ุฐุฑู‡ู… ุจุทุดุงู‹ ุดุฏูŠุฏุงู‹ ูˆุณุทูˆุฉู‹
ูˆุจุงู„ุบ ุจุงู„ุฑู‘ูุณู’ู„ู ุงู„ูƒุฑุงู… ูˆุจุงู„ู†ู‘ุฐุฑ

13. And if the brave minister had patience with them
It would be said he was helpless, and nothing was said about patience

ูกูฃ. ูˆู„ูˆ ูŠุตุจุฑ ุงู„ู‚ุฑู… ุงู„ูˆุฒูŠุฑ ุนู„ูŠู‡ู…
ู„ู‚ูŠู„ ุจู‡ ุนุฌุฒ ูˆู…ุง ู‚ูŠู„ ุนู† ุตุจุฑ

14. And he attacked them at that time with an assault
Not even the assault of warriors with the white and the brown.

ูกูค. ูˆุตุงู„ูŽ ุนู„ูŠู‡ู… ุนู†ุฏ ุฐู„ูƒ ุตูˆู„ุฉู‹
ูˆู„ุง ุตูˆู„ุฉูŽ ุงู„ุถุฑุบุงู… ุจุงู„ุจูŠุถ ูˆุงู„ุณู…ุฑ

15. And he marched with an army on Thursday raging
As the night travels and as the floods flow

ูกูฅ. ูˆุณุงุฑ ุจุฌูŠุด ูˆุงู„ุฎู…ูŠุณ ุนุฑู…ุฑู…
ููƒุงู„ู„ูŠู„ ุฅุฐ ูŠุณุฑูŠ ูˆูƒุงู„ุณูŠู„ ุฅุฐ ูŠุฌุฑูŠ

16. They had corrupted the land with the worst corruption
Until he came to them with the first massacre

ูกูฆ. ูˆู‚ุฏ ุฃูุณุฏูˆุง ุดุฑู‘ูŽ ุงู„ูุณุงุฏ ุจุฃุฑุถู‡ู…
ุฅู„ู‰ ุฃู† ุฃุชุงู‡ู… ู…ู†ู‡ ุจุงู„ูุชูƒุฉ ุงู„ุจูƒุฑ

17. Cannons threw them the darts of death from him
With sparks in the dark night like a palace

ูกูง. ุฑู…ุชู‡ู… ุจุดู‡ุจ ุงู„ู…ูˆุช ู…ู†ู‡ ู…ุฏุงูุนูŒ
ู„ู‡ุง ุดุฑุฑูŒ ููŠ ุธู„ู…ุฉ ุงู„ู„ูŠู„ ูƒุงู„ู‚ุตุฑ

18. They saw the horror of the Day of Resurrection in the position of perdition
And does one deny horrors in the position of Resurrection?

ูกูจ. ุฑุฃูˆุง ู‡ูˆู„ ูŠูˆู… ุงู„ุญุดุฑ ููŠ ู…ูˆู‚ู ุงู„ุฑุฏู‰
ูˆู‡ู„ ุชู†ูƒุฑ ุงู„ุฃูŽู‡ูˆุงู„ ููŠ ู…ูˆู‚ู ุงู„ุญุดุฑ

19. So he destroyed them, the destruction of Aad, for their transgression
With a thunderbolt that left no mention of the people

ูกูฉ. ูุฏู…ู‘ูŽุฑู‡ู… ุชุฏู…ูŠุฑ ุนุงุฏู ู„ุจูŽุบู’ูŠู‡ู…
ุจุตุงุนู‚ุฉู ู„ู… ุชูุจู’ู‚ู ู„ู„ู‚ูˆู… ู…ู† ุฐูƒุฑ

20. Did you not see them fallen as if their blood
Flowed as the drunkardโ€™s wine flows?

ูขู . ุฃู„ู… ุชุฑู‡ู… ุตุฑุนู‰ ูƒุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽ ุฏู…ุงุกู‡ู…
ุชุณูŠู„ ูƒู…ุง ุณุงู„ุช ู…ุนุชู‚ุฉ ุงู„ุฎู…ุฑ

21. And how many a group that transgression dwelt in their hearts
Thinking they are with impregnability

ูขูก. ูˆูƒู… ูุฆุฉู ู‚ุฏ ุฎุงู…ุฑ ุงู„ุจุบูŠู ู‚ู„ุจูŽู‡ุง
ุนู„ู‰ ุฃู†ู‘ูŽู‡ุง ุจุฃุญุจูˆู„ุฉ ุงู„ุญุตุฑ

22. So the bodies went away and they were lying down
Stepped upon for a sin they committed at the minister

ูขูข. ูุฑุงุญุช ุจู‡ุง ุงู„ุฃูŽุฌุณุงุฏ ูˆู‡ูŠ ุทุฑูŠุญุฉูŒ
ุชุฏุงุณ ุนู„ู‰ ุฐู†ุจู ุฌู†ูŽุชู’ู‡ ู„ุฏู‰ ุงู„ูˆุฒุฑ

23. For the purpose of an aggressor in the world
Must take place and must occur

ูขูฃ. ูุฅู†ู‘ูŽ ู…ุฑุงุฏูŽ ุฌุงุฑู ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ูˆุฑู‰
ูˆู„ุง ุจุฏู‘ูŽ ุฃู†ู’ ูŠุฌุฑู‰ ูˆู„ุง ุจุฏู‘ูŽ ุฃู† ูŠุฌุฑูŠ

24. Deaths roamed among them with their armies
Where the space of war is narrower than a span

ูขูค. ุชุฌูˆู„ ุงู„ู…ู†ุงูŠุง ุจูŠู†ู‡ู… ุจุฌู†ูˆุฏู‡ุง
ุจุญูŠุซ ู…ุฌุงู„ ุงู„ุญุฑุจ ุฃุถูŠู‚ ู…ู† ุดุจุฑ

25. The wave and the wave from blood surged in it
Like the surging of the sea wave in the sea abyss

ูขูฅ. ุชูŽู„ุงุทูŽู…ูŽ ููŠู‡ุง ุงู„ู…ูˆุฌู ูˆุงู„ู…ูˆุฌู ู…ู† ุฏู…ู
ุชูŽู„ุงุทูู…ูŽ ู…ูŽูˆุฌู ุงู„ุจุญุฑ ููŠ ู„ูุฌู‘ูŽุฉ ุงู„ุจูŽุญุฑ

26. So they sought refuge in the grave of the son of the Prophet Muhammad
Did the owner of the grave rejoice in their destruction?

ูขูฆ. ูู„ุงุฐูˆุง ุจู‚ุจุฑ ุงุจู† ุงู„ู†ุจูŠู‘ ู…ุญู…ุฏ
ูู‡ู„ ุณูุฑู‘ูŽ ููŠ ุชุฏู…ูŠุฑู‡ู… ุตุงุญุจ ุงู„ู‚ุจุฑ

27. For if they were left, the sword would not stop killing them
And if they appeared, they would come with a back-breaking one

ูขูง. ูุฅู† ุชูุฑูƒูˆุง ู„ุง ูŠุชุฑูƒ ุงู„ุณูŠู ู‚ุชู„ูŽู‡ู…
ูˆุฅู† ุธูŽู‡ูŽุฑูˆุง ุจุงุคูˆุง ุจู‚ุงุตู…ุฉ ุงู„ุธู‡ุฑ

28. And its days continued brightly glowing
Lighting the light of the sun at zenith

ูขูจ. ูˆู„ุง ุจุฑุญุช ุฃูŠู‘ูŽุงู…ู‡ ุงู„ุบุฑู‘ู ุบูุฑู‘ูŽุฉู‹
ุชุถูŠุกู ุถูŠุงุกูŽ ุงู„ุดู…ุณ ููŠ ุทู„ุนุฉ ุงู„ุธู‡ุฑ

29. And it remained in a new holiday chronicled
For the day of Eid came with victory and triumph
