1. Blessed is he who blessed you, son of the blessed one
And increased you in gifts and blessed you

2. With a station of highness and grandeur
That adds to your eminence and authority

3. May God keep you a rain cloud of generosity
For whoever seeks shade, your downpour quenches his thirst

4. I saw you as a spring of hopes gushing forth
You disdain wealth’s delicacies in your generosity

5. And care not for it, preferring your neighbor
Your protection is protection from what is feared

6. You give refuge from calamities to those who seek your refuge
You are the elite of all nobles among us

7. You are the best of those who seek your guidance
You were raised obedient to the Master, humble

8. And fearing God—this remained your motto
Avoiding what goes against piety

9. You belted yourself with chastity against it
You outshine the full moon in your beauty

10. As if the moon borrowed its rising from you
You took to good deeds, judging

11. By God’s command, your night or your day
Answering those who call upon you without delay

12. Your generosity stirs whoever rouses it
No noble ever caught up to you

13. With a generosity or raised as much dust as you
You were too lofty for praise from the righteous

14. On that day you distanced your minaret
Goodness flowed and settled, thanks to you

15. In the land which you made your dwelling
And rightly so, when it boasts and triumphs,

16. The home you chose to pride itself upon
Your magnanimity always flows

17. For your position and stature among the virtuous
You are a ripe, fruitful palm tree

18. Whose bounty flows, so fresh are your fruits
All with glory share in glory

19. But your glory in truth cannot be shared
Time committed a grave sin

20. But when asked, will you accept its apology?
You forgave its sin with your nobility

21. So we forgave its sin in what you repaired
And Abu Al-Khasib pleases me

22. For in it you built your house
I visit you, my lord, every year

23. Never far from your shrine that calls me
I awaited the valleys’ flooding

24. And their flooding, your blossoming, I awaited
I witnessed the sights of bliss in them

25. But never witnessed in life, your like
