1. O bearer of tidings, inform the scout
Who leads people in nobility and faith

2. That we have not ceased to be joyful
As care was shown to us through glances

So we fasted in yearning and in moaning

10. And your Indian
Has also fasted and become sane after madness

11. Do you know, my Master, that we
Have defeated the army of damned Iblis

12. By obeying your sublime command I see it
Clung to the strong rope

13. And Salman the Most Fragrant, you are safe in the morning
And my success through it is kissing the right hand

14. So how many favors have I been adorned with
As I was adorned with a precious necklace

15. My poems will call for his praises
As the pigeons called from the branches

16. And I will remember him and thank him
And speak good of him time after time

17. His generosity did not stop worldly boons
Throughout the years

18. Nor did I part from him, a Hashimite
Ally of generosity and bright of forehead

19. His generosity placed me in a position
Where I see myself as the star on the horizons below me

20. For kindness is only the kindness of a freeman
Who protects glory with debased money

21. May the hands of the healthy not scoop dust from him
Nor may my hopes in his rising fortune fail
