1. The excellent and generous Abdel Wahid has not died
His noble and proud son Mahmoud remains

2. We have not lost his generosity in this life
It still exists in his progeny that bounty

3. If its branches are purified, the offspring will thrive
It will prosper and bear fruit on its twigs

4. God will not remove this secret from a man
In whom good fortune and felicity reside

5. God has blessed the family of the blessed since
Their offspring are born for virtue

6. They are purified, no filth can defile them
Nor can sinfulness touch them in any way

7. Those seeking needs flock to them
The fresh spring is open to all people

8. I see none but them, of those who match them
To ask a favor or extend a hand

9. I stay with them in a vast space that delights me
I have hopes of attaining kindness through them

10. Were they to gift me with their noble qualities
They would be my greatest honor and source of pride

11. The short poem meters sing whenever they are mentioned
Like precious gems and pearls on a thread

12. O you, when lineages are recounted
Are first among all people in ancestry

13. O son of him I hoped for and praised
Whose support was manifest to me

14. None can refute my words praising him
Accepted and well-regarded in all speech

15. You have inherited his noble traits by which you rose high
And built up what your forefathers erected

16. You have walked every path he used to take
So all your deeds, O Mahmoud, are praiseworthy

17. Abu Al-Khasib, fertility comes to him through you
As you are a shelter extended to him today

18. You have frustrated every envious person you know
And surely all who have blessings are envied

19. May God keep you as a successor to those now gone
While I extol and repeat your praises in verse

20. And may you live in comfort and plenty forever
With no adversity throughout the ages.
