1. Today time has become organized in you,
And God has facilitated what was so difficult.

2. Oman has become happy with you as its noble master,
None can violate its sanctity in calamities.

3. The hand of the wrongdoer reached out to it, but did not succeed,
Except in that which regret and loss followed.

4. After the evildoer became restless in his position,
And almost ignited flames around its edges.

5. Clinging to the ropes of the sun out of greed,
And heading to a mirage that does not quench thirst.

6. So he was not guided to success that gives him hope,
And when one loses direction, nothing avails him.

7. Nothing guided him but misguidance,
And losing direction increases him in nothing but blindness.

8. His efforts led him astray in his seduction,
As if he chose oblivion over consciousness.

9. I advised him and gave him advice warning him,
Using both the sword and the pen as warners.

10. But he did not heed the advice about his delusion,
As if his ears were deaf towards the advisor.

11. He wanted, in his claim, to gain power
Over Oman by force, but did not attain what he claimed.

12. His ultimate goal that day was deprivation,
Had he obeyed and pleased you, he would not have been deprived.

13. You gave him bounty before this day,
But he was not among those who thank for bounty.

14. And he came seeking a kingdom from you that was not his,
So the two opponents argued over the lofty inheritance.

15. Until when he would not listen to judgment,
You two judged between yourselves with the Indian scimitar.

16. It decreed for you what it decreed and passed,
What a just judgment it was when it judged!

17. Its blade did not transgress justice,
Nor did it wrong the wronged, even if he was wronged.

18. The people, both present and absent, said,
“Salem did not wrong in his rule or oppress.”

19. It brought him down from the fortresses, and had
You left Turki hostage in the fort, he would have died thirsty.

20. He wanted protected and sheltered in it,
But did not find in the fortress a shelter.

21. He did not find a ladder to ascend to the sky with,
And had he thrown himself into the sea, he would have drowned.

22. And indeed, before giving him amnesty,
He had not felt death until he felt regret.

23. And he was fooled by those who called him to betrayal,
So he faced obstacles of death and plunged in.

24. I made him taste sweet pardon for his crime,
And your pardon of one who transgressed is generous.

25. You pardoned him, but the pardon of the Capable,
And pardon is closer to piety, as is known.

26. By God, you did not violate his sanctity,
And he remained respected with you until he passed away.

27. Perhaps the critic blames you out of foolishness,
And among people, the wrongdoer may blame you.

28. But, by your Lord, had he become tyrannical and unjust,
And did not pardon as you pardon, but instead took revenge,

29. I would have pitied him even if he had gained power over you,
For he would not have spared you or joined those you pitied.

30. Your Lord willed that you pardon with His power,
To manifest grace and distinction between you.

31. And Allah knows, and the whole world,
Had Turki attained anything from Salem, he would not have been safe.

32. He continues to generously reward from his feats,
Thus the noble one rewarded nobility.

33. He and his fortunate grandfather competed
In what they attained of honorable character and shared it.

34. How excellent is his youthful appearance, a young man
Like a star guiding the path of righteousness since it rose!

35. Firm, bold, perfectly composed in war and battle,
He established himself in the abode of pride with stability.

36. A smiling face, and a frowning, awe-inspiring demeanor,
And a sword dripping blood from the brow of heroes.

37. From the breasts of loftiness is what is seen as downpour,
And from the souls of nobility is what cured sickness.

38. They share what they attained of honored character and divided it,
What an excellent son he is, I mean his son,

39. Who revived his past memory though it is old!
Noble chiefs of Oman venerate him,

40. Their stature rising to the heavens' heights.
They protect their master from every affliction,

41. With Faisal who locks both anxiety and summit.
None protected his realm when dangers came threatening

42. Except him. Oman’s lions guard it like sheep at night.
Were it not for your existence this disease would not have been cured

43. And that crack, were it not for you, would not have healed.
A subtle grace from God in you He manifested,

44. After the subtle grace had been concealed.
It came to us, bringing happiness, as we supplicate God for it,

45. The shining Basra and its souls rejoiced for it,
And the lofty had their happiness renewed and smiled.

46. God made an order easy which you actualized,
And God has wisdom in His decree.

47. You continue to excel in generosity and beneficence,
Like rain wherever it poured, and sea wherever it surged.

48. Among your merits are those that adorn the stars,
And among your grants are those that would shame seas.

49. I have never ceased composing my words about you,
Just as drops of rain succeed each other in rhythm and harmony.
