1. For Allah is the builder of the glorious shrine
And not for those who frequented its spacious courtyard seeking fame

2. It was built for the humble bowing in prayer
Its elegant simplicity pleasing to behold

3. Hoping for a generous reward from Allah
Whose generosity exceeds all earthly gifts

4. She changed and shaped it with wisdom
As suits a firmly constructed house of worship

5. Taking pains to expand it, aided by
Keen oversight and willing workers

6. Wherein presides Imam Abu Hanifa whose
Virtues shine like stars in the heavens

7. From him eminent imams through the ages
Derived foundations and branches of sacred law

8. She restored, rebuilt, and renewed it
A mosque for the greatest imam of renown
