1. I remember ruins worn by time
With the same skyline, grieving, on the right side of the fever

2. The abodes of loved ones where love descended
Leaving none but a loving heart infatuated

3. We knew where love comes to its people
With it and enduring passion from sincerity

4. If those abodes have been afflicted with torment
My greatest wishes of love have long

5. Stood over them while love provokes me
So I let tears flow copiously like twins

6. As if I paused with lamentation on sobbing women
That flowed in the lands of Malikiyya when

7. No eye shedding tears unless mingled with blood
So I beseech clouds for their sake

8. And never did clouds rain like them, abundantly
My two companions, love you don't know

9. My two companions, if you had seen you would have known
Stand with me at the ruins of a demolished house

10. So you may learn from my torment what you didn't know
Even if my eyelids don't help me weep

11. With the marks of rainwater, make me happy yourselves
With your life, if you see me in dire need

12. You will only see an infatuated heart
Of what saddened me in the darkness a lightning flashed

13. I cried for it from torment, yet you smiled
It crept feebly and the night like a laden branch

14. I said, is this the mouth of Sa'd you imagined?
And I showed the dark thicket like passion in love

15. And like a heart, oh my thirst, when you clung
A mouth whose nectar I thirsted for aroused me

16. Could I complain but to its nectar and thirst-quencher?
I drank fever and touch from it once

17. I didn't know how to discern fever from touch
Joy we had seized with fangs of familiarity

18. That joy was none but pleasure and delight
May God protect the loved ones we shepherded, our covenant

19. A covenant we connected but they severed
A songstress from the family of Yarab arbitrated

20. Her love in my heart, lost, so she arbitrated
The solitary, shining sword plunged in love

21. Blood that was forbidden for love before
In that valley disloyal souls

22. Shot with the pupils of disasters, arrows
How many hearts we wounded and didn't find

23. A remedy for what the black sights injured
I see the whites don't keep the covenant of a lover

24. Even if the passion tied the firmest covenants
Among people, if tested, you will find

25. Honey in taste, bitter in reality
I looked at people with the eye of a knower

26. And saw them as people, characters and expressions
My eyes never saw the like of Majid's glory

27. Nor anyone guiding knowledge like Shahab al-Din
He belongs to the best of Allah's creation

28. From the noble thinning branch of Meyyam
When he rose with virtues sublime

29. I imagined him seeking ascension to the sky
He is fierce, determined against every atheist

30. From God he never weakened or compromised
Ask virtue from him and ask righteousness, you will be guided

31. To the best of those who passed and preceded
The heart of love was too narrow to conceal his virtue

32. So it revealed what was hidden and concealed
The miracles of truth appeared at his rise

33. Bewildering the falsifiers, rendering them mute
When the criticizing assailant saw him

34. He thought him nothing but a sound and solid pillar
From the darkness of his night emerges

35. A morn of guidance, leaving no night dark
For him are books, leaving no ambiguity

36. Nor anything in religion left ambiguous
He is none but God's mercy upon people

37. Through him God saves people from blindness
If the eye of truth itself realized him

38. We would say he is the light that took flesh
Noble, he never gave so he'd be praised with munificence

39. But gives generously out of nobility
The clouds of his hands unlike any

40. Rain generosity and shower boons
In vain the clouds pretend and swell

41. To match his bounty, though the sea envelops all knowledge
We see you with the eye of criticism, superior to what we see

42. And saw none more generous than you
I swear if you were enriched or gained wealth

43. You would not leave your home in poverty
Your knowledge, no person encompassed it whole

44. So was that knowledge learned?
You contained the sciences of religion, all

45. And came to inspiration in worldly knowledge
You build God's religion with knowledge and piety

46. And if not for you exalted, it would have crumbled
You protected God's limits from transgressors

47. So we don't fear breach while you guard
He who gave you what you deserve

48. Will grant you a status forever revered
So enjoy the reward of this fast and celebrate its holiday

49. And toss the nose of enviers humiliated and resentful
I wish for the continuance of your glory

50. As I wished for myself to be honored and esteemed
You remain the pride and might of Muslims

51. Yes, let every Muslim pride himself in you
