1. Yes, none other than you is fit for this matter,
And if asked "Is there one who is fit?" say "Fit is he!"

2. You have strived to attain the heights without toil,
While others strive for the heights, toiling as they go.

3. You have traded for the glory you deserve,
A trade in which you are triumphant and achieve profit.

4. So you were honored among the elders with a robe,
Whose fragrance spread through the lands of Iraq.

5. A soaring fame whose reputation flew,
While you stay still and it roams the earth around.

6. With your excellence the ministry has girded its loins,
A minister opening the gates of guardianship.

7. An advisor has advised what I see-
An advisor sincerely counseling for my life.

8. He saw, after Jesus, the rectitude in the son of Isa,
And through the rectitude of deeds, interests are achieved.

9. He inclined to your massive side in the heights,
While among the people there is one declined, and one inclined.

10. Perhaps through you the fire, whose embers
Among the people blazed, will be extinguished, then subside.

11. It has demolished, after Jesus, Bandar and Fahd,
Those lands with its calamities so dire.

12. It wept over them- and dwellings can weep with eyes-
And the elegies mourned over those ruins left behind.

13. There were matters that came and wrecked havoc,
And nothing beautiful remains in the eye, all is ugly.

14. Matters that have decreed that no dweller will see safety,
And none rejoice in that which departed and left.

15. It has dragged all the honorable ones through the mud,
And blood flows copiously and skins lie trapped.

16. They stripped it after the family of Muhammed,
Cultured, bleeding, with its white towers exposed.

17. Wars that God knows have kindled flames
Stirred by violent winds, blaze fiercely.

18. No admonisher's advice benefited them,
And does advice ever benefit the ignorant?

19. So this one is killed, and this one killer,
And this one wounded, the other wounder.

20. Until you reached today what you have reached,
And these groups are nothing but funeral wailers.

21. Your sublime traits shine their lightning to us,
And the lightning of sublimity smiles radiantly from your face.

22. Through you we glimpse hopes reaping their fruits
As we wish, so do you perceive?

23. You are not one to tarry from what you seek,
While others always tarry from it.

24. And if the bold hold back from seeking the heights,
You are bold, storming courageously toward it.

25. And if a glance turns from the glorious deeds,
Every glance looks longingly to your majesty.

26. Yes, you are the boundless sea of arrivals,
While the shallow sea busies itself with ripples and foam.

27. You have bestowed generosity on those who sought you,
And every generous one grants generosity.

28. So the stranger may feel safe in your days,
And the cheerful one freely exclaim in the garden of good tidings.

29. Take this then, before your excellence, as my first eulogy,
And I have, before this, other eulogies for you.
