1. The virtues, honors, excellences, and glories
Have lost Muhammad, their trusted one.

2. So what a loss for the lost one!
The abodes of piety are empty,

3. And those mosques are inactive.
Schools wept for him after he was gone,

4. And the mosques became empty.
He was the greatest authority

5. In religion, silencing all dissenters.
In all the land, there was none

6. Stronger or more just than him as witness.
I swear by God, he was the only one

7. In the religion of Islam.
The sources of his knowledge

8. Were a canon legislated for every visitor.
For the upright religion - if you look -

9. He was a hand and a helper.
O preacher! By his existence,

10. A loftiness that softens the solid rocks.
O you remote from his company!

11. Will you return after remoteness?
So you have granted a request

12. To one who sought objectives and aims.
And you let flow a tear that for me

13. Before this day was frozen.
Where are the precious tenets and principles,

14. The doctrines, and the benefits?
I did not hope that I

15. Would lament over the days, finding them transient.
And that after my loved ones,

16. I would be soft towards the calamities of fate.
My time does not aid me with a strong hand,

17. Nor does it help me.
And indeed I am weary of life

18. With what I see and endure.
When we lost the righteous ones,

19. I learned that time is corrupt.
