5. And how can he refuse meetings that justify us
Who used to expand for us procrastination and frivolity

6. We came to him with yearning hearts and the dawn
Shed the clothes of the naked night

ูุถุง ุงูุตูุจุงุญู ุซูุงุจู ุงูููููู ุนูุฑูุงูุง
7. And the caravan between a slain drunkard
And one leaning his head until the horses of Nushwan

8. Circling they corresponded in their litters
From the valley of Mecca individually and in pairs

ููุฉู ุฃูุฑุงุฏุงู ูุฃูุฑุงูุง
9. They unpacked their bags empty in it
And they deserved forgiveness from the bounty of God

ูุฑููุบูุฉู
ููุงูุณุชูุญูุจูุง ู
ูู ุนูุทุงุกู ุงููููู ุบููุฑุงูุง
10. After circumambulating the House and performing `Umrah
And receiving stones and pillars from it

ูู ุจุนุฏู
ุง ุทููููุง ุจุงูุจูุชู ูุงูุนุชูู
ุฑูุง
ููุงูุณุชููู
ููุง ู
ูู ุฃุญุฌุงุฑุงู ูุฃุฑูุงูุง
11. And shuttling Sa`i between the two hills devoutly
Sometimes hastily and above composure sometimes
ูกูก. ูุฑุฏูุฏูุง ุงูุณูุนูู ุจูู ุงูู
ุฑูููุชูู ุชูููู
ุญููุงู ุนุฌุงูุงู ูููู ุงูุฑูููุซู ุฃุญูุงูุง
12. And in Mina, they hamstrung camels
Aged she-camels and young
ูกูข. ูุนููุฑูุง ุจู
ูููู ู
ู ุจุนุฏ ุญูููููู
ู
ูููู
ู ุงูู
ุทููู ู
ูุณูููุงุชู ูุซูููุงูุง
13. And they petitioned for rain at the stance of Arafah, and
The sky of God had clouded over them in approval

ุทูุฑูุง ุจุนูุฑุงุตู ุงูู
ููููููู ููููุฏ

ูุชู ุนููููู
ู ุณูู
ุงุกู ุงููููู ุฑุถูุงูุง
14. A land you see barren for ages
And Hajj growing white hair and youth on it
ูกูค. ุฃูุฑุถู ุชูุฑุงูุง ุทููุงูู ุงูุฏููุฑู ู
ูููุฑุฉู
ููุงูุญุฌูู ูููุจุชููุง ุดูุจุงู ูุดุจูุงูุง
15. As if the resurrection had hastened them
So they took shrouds from the bellies of the earth

ูุณููููุจูููู ูุฃูู ุงูุจุนุซู ุฃุนูุฌูููู
ู
ููุงูุณุชูุตุญุจูุง ู
ู ุจุทููู ุงูุฃุฑุถู ุฃููุงูุง
16. To God belong the nights that passed in Mina
So how much beauty the Merciful adorned for us in them

ููู ุจูุง ุงูุฑูุญู
ู ุฃููุงูุง
17. We left our homes empty of
Every withdrawal from homelands, homelands
ูกูง. ุฎูููุง ู
ูุงุฒููููุง ู
ูููุง ููุฏ ููุฒูุนูุชู
ูููู ุงููููุฒูุน ุนู ุงูุฃูุทุงู ุฃูุทุงูุง
18. And the settled ones in it and the people dispersed
Among us and them, we had family and brethren

ูุชุฑูู
ูููุง ูููููู
ูููุง ุฃููุงู ูุฅุฎูุงูุง
19. And at al-Maqassab a lively young gazelle stretched its wrist
To stone the Jamarat, but it missed us and made us deaf

ูุฑู
ู ุงูุฌูู
ุงุฑู ููุฃูุฎุทุงูุง ูุฃุตู

20. It gifted us without knowing its skill
Coolness to the eye and burning to the innards
ูขู . ุฃููุฏุชู ุฅูููููุง ููู
ุง ุชูุฏุฑู ู
ูุงุญุชููู
ููุนูู ุจูุฑูุฏุงู ูููุฃุญุดุงุกู ููุฑุงูุง
21. Asking about the way of Hajj, I said to him
God accepts only the most difficult offering
ูขูก. ูุณุงุฆูู ุนู ุทุฑููู ุงูุญุฌู ููุช ูู
ูุง ูููุจูู ุงูููููู ุฅููุง ุงูุตููุนูุจู ููุฑุจุงูุง
22. For it is the way to the dwellings of Paradise, so say
What makes us eternal inhabitants

ุง ููุตููุฑูุง ูู ุงูุฎููุฏู ุณูููุงูุง
23. When we embarked upon it, we brought out passion
From our breasts, our families, and belongings

ู ุงูุตููุฏูุฑ ุฃูุงูููุง ูุฏูููุงูุง
24. Then in it he leveled in safety and caution
Equally from God the weak and mighty

ูู ููู ุญูุฐูุฑู
ุนูุฏูุงู ู
ูู ุงููููู ุฃูุฏููุงูุง ูุฃูุตุงูุง
25. So many great ones passed by our side
And so much we were troubled by hate overtaking us

ุฑูู ุฌุงูุจูุง

ู
ูููููุง ุจู
ูุฑููู ุชุฎุทูุงูุง
26. And so much ruin shot at us from Ma'tabah's bow
But God drove it away lest it make us deaf

ุงูุง ุงูุฑูุฏู ุนู ููุณู ู
ูุนูุทูุจูุฉู
ููุตุฏูู ุงูููููู ุฃู ููุตู
ู ููุฃูุดูุงูุง
27. And so much we sought glory, its pursuit arduous
When we despairingly gave up on it and it came to us

ุงู ุนุฒู ู
ุทูุจููู

ูุง ุงููุซููููุง ุจููุฃุณู ุนูู ูุงุชุงูุง
28. And the thorn trees entangle the howls in it
Imagining it, from the perfection of creation, a structure

ุฎุฑู ุงูุฐููุฑุง ุชูููู ุงูููุนููู ุจู
ุชุฎุงูู ู
ู ุชู
ุงู
ู ุงูุฎููููู ุจูููุงูุง
29. The gaze is embarrassed to grasp its peak
Until it spins back to its thrower, confused
ูขูฉ. ูุณุชุญุณุฑู ุงูุทูุฑู ุนู ุฅุฏุฑุงู ุฐูุฑูุชููู
ุญุชูู ููุฑูู ุฅูู ุฑุงู

30. We approached yet could not be guided but by the pole
Of the night stars steering us like steering marks
ูฃู . ุฌูุจููุงูู ูุง ูููุชุฏู ุฅูููุง ุจูุณุงุฑูุฉู

ู ุงูููููู ู
ูุณูุฑุงูุง ูู

31. We fled quickly as if distance cheated us
Or we rode upon that darkness, blindness

ุชูุทููุง ุจูุฐุงู ุงูุฏููููู ุธูููู

32. When dawn drew near to us, our guide said
Oh remoteness from where we camped, good morning

ููุง ูุงูู ูุงุฆูููุง
ูุง ุจูุนุฏู ู
ูุตุจุญูุง ู
ู ุญูุซู ู

33. And the lean camels, emaciated in entrails
If not for saddlebags, we would have left them pegs
ูฃูฃ. ููุงูุนููุณู ุทุงููุฉู ุงูุฃุญุดุงุก ุถุงู
ุฑุฉู
ูููุง ุงูุฑููุญุงูู ูุฎููุงููู ุฃุดุทุงูุง
34. If it came to a town from distant wasteland
The town pelted the newcomer with countries
ูฃูค. ุฅุฐุง ุฃุชุชู ุจูุฏุงู ุนู ุบูุจูู ู
ูุชูููููุฉู
ุฑูู
ู ุจููุง ุงูุจูุฏู ุงูู
ุฃุชููู ุจูุฏุงูุง
35. Crashing with dishevelment bought themselves with wage
And seldom took payment for them
ูฃูฅ. ุชููู ุจุดูุนูุซู ุดูุฑูููุง ุจุงูุฃุฌุฑ ุฃููุณูู

ุง ุฃุฎุฐูุง ุนูููู ุฃุซู
ุงูุง
36. When called from the regions of Mecca, they raced
To bear the litters, faithfully and confidently

ูุง ุฏูุนููุง ู
ู ููุงุญู ู
ููุฉู ุงูุจุชุฏุฑูุง
ุธูุฑู ุงูุฑููุงุฆุจ ุฅูู
ุงูุงู ูุฅููุงูุง
37. Oh land of Najd, may God water you pouring
From clouds abundant sweet water filled up
ูฃูง. ูุง ุฃูุฑุถู ููุฌุฏู ุณูุงู ุงูููููู ู

ู ุบุฒูุฑู ุงูู

38. When lightning smiles in it collected
The thunder bellowed from its edges neighing

ูู ุญุงููุชููููู ุฃูุฑูููู ุงูุฑูุนุฏู ุฅุฑููุงูุง
39. A land whose wilderness you see to be intruding
Yet in its plants are lavender and mugwort

ูุงุจุชูุง ุงูููููุตููู

40. And if you glance upon its ground closely
You will find only gardens and meadows

ูุฎุชุจุฑู
ูุง ุชูููู ุฅููุง ุญูุฏููุงุชู ูุบูุฏุฑุงูุง
41. I recalled its tempests passionately
And it resumed for me the pleasures of youth
ูคูก. ุฐููุฑุชู ูููุง ุฃุนุงุตูุฑู ุงูุตูุจุง ุทูุฑูุจุงู
ููุงูุณุชุฃููุชู ูููู ูู ุงูููุฐูุงุชู ุฑูููุนุงูุง
42. Days the days did not weary my branch
And gray hair did not scare the charm from my temples

43. Days the gazelles throw themselves if I fancied and if
I spoke towards me, glances and ears perked up

44. Days found me only meeting an appointment
I ask for when it is due

45. Days my place was the dwelling of youth
And my time the season of pleasures

ููุงูู ููุตููุจุง ููุทููุงู
ููุงู ุนูุตุฑููู ูููุฐูุงุชู ุฅุจูุงูุง
46. As for Ibn Hamd, he has fulfilled his duty
When he accompanied us, but he who betrayed, betrayed

ูุฏู ููููุฏ ุฃููู ุจุฐู

47. And they did not change to me though they struggled
Thwarted, and if they were noble to people, trifling

ู ุฅูู ุฌูููุฏูุง
ุญุงููุง ูุฅูู ูุฑู
ููุง ูู ุงูููุงุณ ุฃููุงูุง
48. And I was not pelted with the disgrace of her
Who secretly ditched and the people openly defended
ูคูจ. ูููุง ููุฐูุชู ุจุนูุฑุงุกู ูููู ู
ูุฑูููุชู
ุณุฑูุงู ูุฏุงูุน ุนููุง ุงูููุงุณู ุฅุนูุงูุง
49. And my gaze does not repeat upon His creation
Except I harvest beautiful bounty and favor

ุฅููุง ุงููุซููู ุบุงูู
ุงู ุญูุณูุงู ูุฅุญุณุงูุง
50. Sometimes he brings me into the sweetness of his eloquence
Comfort and breezes of basil from him

ุฑุงุญุงู ูู
ู ููุญุงุชู ู
ูู ุฑูุญุงูุง
51. As if I were from him in the vastest greenery
The bend of the two cliffs crashing and toppling
