1. You have attained all hopes and wishes
And remained a refuge for people

2. And been protected from the pitfalls of time
And avoided the paths of pigeons

3. And still you are, in all that's sought
Supreme over the lofty heights

4. You made the Feast of Ascent a celebration
Despite the envy of enviers and plotters

5. For he has come to tell us of you without ceasing
Of remaining and what you hope for to persist

6. And that which has come to you of blessing
Is sublime and flows perfectly to completion

7. And you execute all that
You gesture towards with arrows’ precision

8. And when you surpassed all kings
We called you the quintessence of the pinnacle

9. And none strays from the impressive deeds you performed
Among people, except the sleepers

10. And how many times did you charge the enemy
With war raging furious as a fire

11. And how you stood in the siege’s narrowness
With the army aflame in retreat

12. You make death-cups rotate
As water-bearers rotate cups of wine

13. And your face in the darkness of battle
Is like a full moon illuminating the blackest night

14. And you on the back of a lofty hill
Sturdy of foot and secure of belt

15. As if you were mounted on a noble steed
Unless on a lofty plateau

16. It carries its rider into seas
And trips on rocks in its galloping pace

17. Oh son of venerable mountains
Lofty and son of tumultuous seas

18. And a people who have passed never uttering lies
Or hearing words of blame

19. Pure of all that would tarnish them
Innocent of any shame or blemish

20. Their young like elders in dignity
And each one like a ferocious army

21. They appear thin yet their hands
Are capable in grave affairs

22. Generous! But they spent their wealth freely in generosity
I love you with the love of souls for life

23. And love of healing in sickness
And I care not if you are

24. Behind me if you come before me
I was extremely unwilling

25. But your resolve guided my reigns
And I am the one you approved

26. And tested in grave matters
As if I were your spear on the day of battle

27. And my tongue your sword in altercation
And if you struck once with vengeance

28. With my palms did I show you my retaliation
Whether you struck heads with my sharp blade

29. Or the blunt edge of swords
And my tongue in defending you

30. Flows wherever you wish like my sword
So take them! How many words

31. Have sufficed, sparing us lengthy oration?
As if their prose were of a garden

32. Or a scent of sweet wine
Circulating in all countries

33. As ostriches’ fragrance circulates
So do not listen if you hear mediocre poetry

34. Other than what I have composed in my words
Greetings - and you still remain

35. Filled with our greetings and peace forever
