To our grievances and complaints

10. If they fall ill, they do not visit the patient
And if they are killed, they do not mourn the slain

11. And how many attractive ones are among them
Whose eyes do not captivate minds

12. Who greet you with roses from his cheeks
And gives you to drink from his lips the drinks

13. And from branches after them you remained
Lamenting the turf and weeping for the hills

14. And you ask every long-necked one
Who refuses for its nature to speak

15. And were it not for the wretchedness of Eve’s grandfather
We would have kept pace with the fools

16. One evening we walked among their great throng
Competing with them with a cheap kolah hat

17. Congratulations to us for the King of Kings
That the King of the earth is an expanse and length

18. You called the mountains and they did not refuse
So how do you see if you called the plains?

Missing wishes and felling hopes

20. You ascended to her and the fool thought
That you cannot reach

21. So you did not throw until you reached the heart
And you left what was dear of it humiliated

To its strongholds, so you paved the way

23. You turned away from it, the way of heroes
Then when you decided, you outstripped the vain

A knight who rides the rugged easily

30. In whom fear cannot find rest
And how many dazzling miracles you have

31. We see, yet our minds deny
You come up with it alone, you do not want

32. A helper, nor consult a friend
Like a lion dragging prey

33. To himself, not desiring to share
By God, you are quite the worker

34. With sharp teeth and a polished, cutting blade
And quite the stander atop perches

35. From which the helpless tumble, disgraced
And you are ransomed by every miser

36. Who grants much and gives little
You see him, when the critic is roused

37. Like the she-camels working, he walks proudly
But by Him visited by pilgrims

38. In order to attain Him or draw near
And they sought refuge in its stones

39. Dragging their tails upon the ground
Disheveled, they gathered at al-Muzdalifah

40. Roaming at dawn wearily
And reclining in white clothes

41. You see them gathered upon Arafat
Indeed, God has singled you out with glorious deeds

42. When counted, the peerless is counted
And time was generous to us through you

43. Though time had been miserly and stingy
So our rain, do not neglect our land

44. And our sun, do not deprive us of setting
And O mountain of God in His land

45. For its visitors, spare us from fading
For you are the one from whom I got my wishes

46. Beautiful praise and ample attainment
And you sheltered me, while turns of fate

47. Would desert me, shaded from you
And I was lost for so long

48. Then you clarified for me secrets or yearnings
On Nayrouz, our master, let blood

49. And be for the one who seeks him sufficient
And reckon him forever knocker on his door

50. Whenever you decide to return
And if you have deprived us of others
