1. Alas! I wish for a past life away from you in sanctuary,
Though if the past does not return to you, it will recur,

2. And O our visiting when you allowed a visit,
You allowed it in weakness while we are zealous,

3. In unawareness fate came rousing us,
Without appointment and the visitors are covetous,

So welcome O night visitor after slumber,

5. Dreams settle in it and it is far,
And it taught me how meeting him is impossible,

6. And how can there be a meeting when the meeting is arduous,
We are nothing but in the shackles of obscurity,
