1. O most perfect of the two burdens created!
Grant today to him who loves you, attainment.

2. He who wearies himself inclines towards you,
Yet he who does not weary himself, inclines not.

3. If no messenger comes to him from you by day,
Then make him a messenger to come by night.

4. And if hardship has poured forth, then make it flow,
So it spills over me after the pouring, a torrent.

5. If I were enabled to attain my desire,
I would drag my train along the road to you.

6. But if I do not come to you on a morning journey,
I will ride my toes, traveling on my mount.
