9. And their epochs are far
With the paint of sly hands

10. Time has woven around them
With spindles of spinners

11. Folded and protected from them
Obliterated by rainy clouds

12. So they are to hiding
Or naked hands

13. And for them palms grow
Between deaf and barren ones

14. They were only with chivalry
And death running

15. How many pierced necks
Quenched the thirst of the noble

16. And the polished like a reed
Came to death by the reed

17. Or the sensitive whose throat
Was slit by the blades

18. They disdained fleeing
While led in shackles

19. Yearning to sacrifice themselves
To deliver their precious ones

20. And were certain that life
With disgrace is like death

21. And purposeless for the faith
Unlike former purposes

22. It left us nothing but sorrow
And passed with what's underneath

23. O House of Ahmad and those
Saved tomorrow by their love

24. And my wish is in their victory
Dearer to me than life

25. How long will you be
On the peaks of lonely hills

26. And your rights below dignity
In defiant palms

27. Your horses startled
And your leather for the fugitives

28. While your guardian sacrifices
In perplexing affairs

29. Twisted though night has spread
Over the moonlit nights

30. So if he complains, it is to
Heedless hearts, neglectful ones

31. And to hordes active
In the valleys at night

32. Raided except some food
Naked except some clothes

33. And if he asks for help
With clutches stingy in gifts

34. And if he seeks aid
Against calamities and disasters

35. Then with hands tied
Are hands there loosened

36. Tell the slain they erred
And lost the path from the guides

37. And walked valleys of wolves
In wastelands without guides

38. Your eyes slept but not
Eyes watchful there

39. You thought the long period
Obliterates hearts of wounds

40. Alas the grudges are fueled
By dawns with hatred

41. Don't feel safe from looks
Of hearts closely watching

42. Bared swords are from
Swords that are sheathed

43. Lethal, grueling ones
From easy, trivial affairs

44. The silent deadly ones
Are the same mistaken ones

45. It is as if the vengeance comes
To the plain with the revengers

46. And every daring against horrors
Is fearful of resolution

47. Greedy so no fullness
Except with the souls of foes

48. As if snarling, a falcon
Swoops from the highest peak

49. And the spear splits every
Neck like the forearm of a damsel

50. They attack altogether
Like violent hyenas

51. She laments but her talk
Never ceases with grief

52. Until truth returns
Awakening us after years

53. How relief has come
When it was thought to be absent

54. My friend on the day of Ashura
And the barren ridge

55. I implore you, give me only
Tears of the weeping ones

56. That's no easy day
So allow us to sob

57. And if you lose a child, frequent only
Homes of those who've lost their children

58. And avoid on the day of sorrow
Hearts set free

59. And when you hear, it is from
Wailing women in anguish

60. And treat the sadness in yourself
With elegies that sadden

61. If only those tombs lacked
Greetings or prayers

62. And were watered from the palm's reverse
Not from palms outstretched

63. And smelled the fragrance of Heaven
Its scent with the hermits

64. For they have folded our suns
And full moons in quandaries
