The bitterness of asking
١. واللَّه لا ذقتُ يوماً
مرارةً للسّؤالِ
2. Nor have I offered my dignity
As protection without my money
٢. ولا سمحتُ بعِرْضِي
وقايةً دون مالي
3. Nor have I accepted any settlement
Except the most honorable ones
٣. ولا رضيتُ قراراً
إلّا قلالَ المعالي
