1. If a man does not find fortune in this life
Though he be wise, he is called confused
١. إذا المرء لم يسعد على الدهر جده
وإن كان ذا عقلٍ يقال مفند
2. O Lord, if he is deprived of achieving his hopes
He takes what tires him, for that is all he can do
٢. ويا رب محظور عليه رايته
تناول ما أعيا الذي هو أوحد
