1. I say to a group who endured and mixed
And spent the night persisting in folly

2. Are you not better than those who rode steeds
And quenched the thirst of resting bellies?

3. Do you forget the crack of your mother's side
Spinning like the spinning of Abu Riyaah?

4. She says, and has sat upon it gently
And has sat upon the impudent rose

5. Are we not better than those who rode steeds
And quenched the thirst of resting bellies?

6. So I said, let him call, it is not yet time for boasting
Nor is it time for censure and praise

7. But it is time for goodness
And admitting the impoverished with provision
