1. Drink to the rain of summer,
To the flash of lightning like swords,

2. To the yearning thunder that never ceases,
To please your hearing with the melody.

3. And to a cloud that divided your time,
Between a long hope or a brief respite,

4. And to gardens whose lights,
Surpass eyes over the summits.

5. So if you miss them both,
Then drink to the face of the noble,

6. Of smooth beauty, except,
For the traces of ruins on the cheeks.

7. Your veins throbbed from the sons,
Of Al-Abbas in the blessed house,

8. And Zainab adorned herself with you,
The adornment of hearing with earrings.

9. And the family of Ali, you are not,
Like the splinters from kindling.

10. O son of the two successors,
Who disputed the right of affiliation,

11. And the groups quarrelled over the son,
Of the uncle and the merciful uncle.

12. You are the chosen one between them,
From the ancient to the fresh.
