1. Why do you fear this world, when you have
The means of avenging its misfortunes?

2. Your tongue and teeth did not descend
Upon the enemies, soft weapons.

3. If rhymes betray you in the first verse,
Your coolness will not fail you, or compromise.

4. How long will this passion last, with every roughness,
And this hesitation and wandering?

5. And preparing praise for men
Who have ambitions and slender bodies.

6. Their sustenance, from the prepared supplies,
Is the scent they smell, yet they are ungenerous.

7. And time became, after my determination ebbed,
Confused, misleading the cultivated.

8. When he doubted anything, he came to me
To enlighten him, so difference disappeared.

9. I am not safe from him, with revelation
Prolonging the quarreling and casting.

10. And your fear of those you trusted is forbidden and unwise,
For you fear those who make you afraid.
