1. In the house with curtains and alcoves,
And dancers like sheep with languid eyes,

2. Sunken-eyed and bellied,
Dawn breaks with the blood of purple dye.

3. When eggs are washed from sleepy eyes,
Changing gowns for worldly cares,

4. Shriveled and trembling bodies
Stumble over faces and eyes.

5. I would gift in guarded verse
To the Auspicious One, Perfect State,

6. Rhymes like hidden pearls
With what rope was my right hand tied

7. That it clings to the sturdy cause
Of the peerless glorious one?

8. More biting than one writhing in pain,
Not sparing the coward or trusting the traitor,

9. Scratching the fetus in the womb,
They are like ships plowing the thick earth.

10. I called out, bare of palm and brow,
Bent of frame and shanks,

11. Assailing certainty with doubt -
Abu Sinan, unassisted,

12. More piercing than his piercing spears
In the shattered armor and mail.

13. Like a lion independent of deer in the forest,
His build and claws like a Nun,

14. However you wish of roughness and tenderness
Suits the world and Judgment Day.
