1. My eyes wept tears the morning we parted
While the other was stingy with its weeping
١. بَكَت عَيني غَداةَ البَينِ دَمعَاً
وَأُخرى بِالبُكَى بَخِلَت عَلَينا
2. So I punished the stingy one
By shutting it when we met again
٢. فَعاقَبتُ الَّتي بَخِلَت عَلَينا
بَأَن غَمَّضتُها يَومَ اِلتَقَينا
