My biggest enemy today?

Aligned with my passions?

3. My eyes are crying,
And my tears attract my sickness,

4. While my blamers were once
My supporters when I was absent.

5. None of the friends is a friend indeed
Among the non-friends.

6. They have altogether corrupted my opinions,
Each one corrupting the other’s.

7. They saw the fire of love kindling
To burn and roast me.

8. So why would my roasting
Inflame it, and roast me?

9. Death says I should die,
Yet I live.

10. To me, living miserably
Is better than noble death.

11. The life of humiliation is misery,
While its essence is most pure.

12. Advice benefits naught
A wicked soul enslaved by passion.

13. Is there an arbiter between us
Who can issue a decree?

14. His habits and claims
Are my mornings and evenings,

15. His revolt and his balderdash
Are my misfortunes and missteps.

16. My talk has exceeded bounds, so today
I have no supporters or helpers.

17. For my supporters can never
Stop the flood of misfortunes.

18. So do not be distracted by my raving,
praises and fake joy,

19. For today my insight is commanded
By the call of my wayward passions.

20. So I have no hope of sanity
From a debauched soul enslaved by passions.

21. If it cuts off my neck with them,
Then do not complain to my enemies.

22. If it splits my head with them,
Then do not weep for my blood.

23. If it breaks my teeth with them,
Then do not blind yourselves to my water.

24. If it gouges out my eye with them,
Then do not deny my blindness.

25. My fate was sealed from the start,
With my misguidance and misery.

26. If He wished, He would have kept me
Safe and sound, by any preservation.

27. If He wished, He would have blinded
Me from seeing any market.

28. Leave this loving one to torment me,
And heal me with recovery.

29. While this love makes me thinner,
And do not care about curing me.

30. For this is my bone, and my skin,
My affair and my creation.

31. Nothing comes between me
And the love in my core

32. Except the gross impulsiveness
Of an evil, vile fellow.

33. When you blame me,
Consider me one of the sheep.

34. And do not remain around my neck,
My robe, and my limbs.

35. For the noble person is one who hears
Reproach with disregard.

36. While the free person is one who hears
Blame followed by apology.
